Matt Kirsch 883
I was thinking the original plugs were cork. Maybe painted over multiple times and oil soaked so as the give the illusion of plastic?
DWV 113
Metal in most SMTA I messed with and also a lot of 400. Noticed the plastic ones cropping up toward the 450 size.

Matt Kirsch 883
Or if you'd rather pay the "overpriced craft store" prices than the "egregiously overpriced McMaster Carr" prices, you could hit up a local craft store and pick up some wine bottle corks. I think they glue them to bleach bottles or something to make them into animals.
