Mark (EC,IN)
My parts book shows a 376375R1 as the correct filter, I have a 376374R1 on the shelf. What is the difference?
FarmerFixEmUp
The 376375R1 is about 2 1/2" taller than the 376374R1. Most C and H and 300-350 tractors used the short filter. Most of the M and Super M and 400-450 use the tall one. These are the Fleetguard equivalent to CaseIH filters. Left filter is an LF 618, same as the 376374R1. The Right filter is an LF584, same as the 376375R1. Some very early M tractors used a much bigger diameter filter.
cgage
Depending on if you have the tall or short filter as stated you can get an 1125 at Napa (51125 WIX) for the tall or 1172 at Napa (51172 WIX) for the short. Our M and F-20 use the 1125 and H and Super A use the 1172
FarmallFan
My H uses the tall filter. I think switching to the short filter was done later in production, mine is 1941.
bitty
Why am I thinking that the short filter was an improvement and was better than the earlier long one ?
Matt Kirsch
Online parts book says the taller filter was used in serials 501-59393, so starting with 59394, the shorter filter was used.
Bermuda_Ken
The oil filter for the M was always the same length. Only the diameter changed. The early models have the "fat" filter (376376R91) that ALL of the diesels have. The Farmall H went from a tall filter (376375R91) to a short filter (376374R91).
