D1206
These guys had a few good years in early 90s, Some bad luck.. drummer passed away, then couple years later lead singer died from an earlier bike accident. Too bad, because they were pretty decent.

12_Guy
I've always been a George Strait fan. I remember hearing "Unwound" on the tractor radio when I was in the field. In high school I listened to some pop music, they play it on the oldies stations now. Sigh. Still like King George. As far as new county acts, I really like Jon Pardi. A duo I haven't heard anyone mention is the Bellamy Brothers. I was searching for some of their music recently and came across a video of a song called "Boobs" by them. It is newer music based on their appearance, you guys would like it, obviously. Sorry I don't know how to do a link. Maybe someone else can help me...

I’ve seen them live and they sound just as good there as the radio. (At least the 4 times I saw them they did) If you haven't heard Whiskey Myers you should check them out. Broken Window Serenade, Mud, and Headstone are probably my three favorite songs by them.

All were pretty good I like the Texas country stuff that doesn’t see much radio play.

scraglycat
Can't let this thread go away without a shoutout to the sad clown. To be the master, one must first be the fool. Warning - not appropriate for young or sensitive ears. Never really listened to the lyrics of this Ray Charles classic before hearing Puddles rendition. TractormanMike.mb
I didn't put any links to songs because: 1 i can't figure out how to do it and 2 i can't pick just one song. I listen to mostly rock and prefer anything from the early 90s Seattle scene. Pearl jam, Alice in chains, soundgarden, temple of the dog just to name a few. All of that music always takes me back to my high school days and the good times with old friends. One of the benefits of modern technology has been the ability to "rediscover" some really good music that never gets radio play anymore. I get so tired of hearing the same overplayed songs on the radio , sure they are good songs but I've heard them hundreds of times. There's nothing better than hearing a song that you haven't heard in years that you used to like.

I went hunting for this a few months ago - remembered it from a.m. radio days, but didn't know who did it. Have it on my digital work mix now. Steve C.
The redhead recently saw where the guy who sang "Polk Salad Annie" had died. His name was Tony Joe White. Here's Polk Salad Annie, and then a cool song about a troll. and the troll song:
