2/26/20 visited the red kid .
work is done on frame , it’s been powder coated , rear axle and suspension pieces powder coated.
other pieces were in paint shop such as engine pan , third member , etc .

cab fuel hole is gone, body work done , now working on steering column fitting to dash .

I might reiterate that, This is the original I.H. frame to this P.U. . However, when it started it was a torsion bar suspension, leaf spring rear ,six cylinder engine, 4 speed granny tranny.  drum brakes. It now will sport a front clip with rack and pinion power steering, disk brakes I.H. 345 V8 engine, a 700r automatic tranny maintaining the floor shift, coil over rear suspension with torsion bars, 9 bolt rear end with disk brakes.  Fuel tank was custom made and  moved from cab to the square area in rear of frame , filler will come up and  be flush in bed. Steering column will be tilt steering wheel ,with modern turn signal switches.

Hope that is all the modifications to bring her today's standard of a good driver while still trying my darnest to keep it as original looking as possible

Next week should start going back together

You approve of the angle of your column? I'm putting ps in my 67 and tilt to . But Im staying in original location with column .

I basically had no choice .

For what he needed to do up front ,this is where it needed to be.

The tilt should make up ,if angle is not comfortable.

 Progress as of 3/5/20

     Slowed down again !

Cab , tranny, motor parts are all painted ready to go back.  However, frame and all powder coated parts did not come out right . gloss is dull , so frame and rear end and accompanying parts will have to be re done.

Disappointing but better now then not being happy,

bed and cab painting done and are being buffed

Front engine parts are painted along with anything else that got modified. Its starting to go  together .

Its the original I.H. frame with few modifications.

I am thinking it should handle pretty modernly.

I am so looking forward to driving it and doing car shows.

Community fathers held a first annual fund raising  car show here in Easton on Feb 29th over 500 cars and trucks showed up ",Not One Hint Of I.H."  My goal is to change that in future.

Assuming your planning on having it at Huron this June?  I hope so,  love to see it. The time & money look well spent!  Did you use IH America adapter kit to mate the gm 700r4 to the 345?

Yes , Rob is rushing wanting it done and I want to trouble shoot before Huron !

Dont even talk money , I am way over budget , my falt due to inexperienced in my part , I kept trying to keep the original stuff , well , time has moved on and what seemed so good when I was a kid ,does not work 6 decades later . Lol

yes , adapters are all through IH parts of America , matter of fact we are waiting on two bushings still to come from IHPA .
it’s down to crunch time little things missing holds up everything.
also need billet neck for fuel to finish tank and it’s on back order.

i really want it at Huron because it was at their last RPRU that I saw the truck that reminded me of the first vehicle that I drove to school after receiving my liscense and gave me the idea to do this as a tribute to my Dad and my high school days .

Beautiful work

Whats the story on the Camaro?

    Not sure ,

It showed up recently , and when I visit there, usually once a week, I am so busy discussing my build that I have not inquired or been told.

work is very slow at shop , Due to C- vírus shut down , the insurance companies are basically working from home and all collision work has dried up however, work on the Red Kid is moving swiftly. Some of his hot rod guys are coming in for service that he was to backed up for three weeks ago.

i was very happy seeing the progress.

Wow!  Phenomenal job, Tony.

Take care during the Corona lockdown. Hope to see you and the truck in South Dakota!

Thank you ,

We are in a quandary at this point , will RPRU be held or not ? I am planning on it but like here in Calif. The Decision basically was made for us by County , City , Governor,  we are in self quarantine here in Cali . By order of Governor  and I am hearing places are closed for services along the way making travel not pleasant.

hope it all changes by MID of June , My gut tells me it will, but who knows?

Heard Our President today say, He does not want The cure worse then The Illness. And he is hoping that first of April things look positive.

all our tractor shows and car shows have been canceled out here, except for Best of West Show at Santa Margarita , they are holding on hoping that all this eases by Memorial Day weekend .
praying for the best !

I been chasing parts etc on baler project and here in Cali . The fact I still farm and operate operate as farms inc . They say they can serve Ag because it’s essential.   . the blaster told me if I was blasting parts on a Harley they may be hesitant because they are subject to spontaneous auditors coming in . Go figure !
also, if I am stopped by CHP and they ask why I am out and about, If I prove that I am chasing parts for Ag no problem .

BTW, I am not trying to be risky . Only me in pickup ,at shop spoke to only one man we kept at least 10 ft distance and only total of four people there. and at parts , bolt , distributor ,call in order wait outside they bring it to you .  Its Surreal.

Tony - You're going to have to put a hoist in that new shed so you can clean the undercarriage on that thing.  That would be a great job for the Grand kids!

You Know , Jerry,  I have been thinking of that for awhile now.  I even looked at them in Feb at the World Ag Expo .

Think when I complete the baler project in shop one that will be my next project,

Not only for ease of cleaning and repairs but for more room.

However , I like it parked in Garage next to Carol's car , I can then keep an eye on it daily and cleaner atmosphere.

I don't have small Grankids anymore Two have graduated College and are working the other two are in college & HS but six hrs away.

Geesh I am an old Bas*ard !,  Carol has three great grand kids but they are baby girls. No help there.

Guess I got my work cut out for me !  Carol ,Says I got to give Her 30 more years , h*ll that puts me at 104 and Carol says, If I don't last she is going to have me stuffed and propped up on front porch as the watch dog !
