Some pics of our pups. Scout is my dog and he’s half German Shepard, quarter Saint Bernard and quarter Bernese mountain dog. He’s named after my 1980 IH scout that he’s sitting in in one of the pics. He’s a stout 110 and as fast as fast is. Anytime the truck starts he’s ready for a ride. Black dog is my wife’s and she’s half black lab and half Great Pyrenees. Her name is silo and she’s a sweet heart just not much between the ears but she’s getting better haha

Scout is an awesome name for a dog! Good looking animal.

I've thought for years if I ever get another dog, and it's a male, I will name him Bart. Easy to holler when you're mad and throw a little Homer Simpson at him.

The easy to holler single syllable thing is probably why they named me Mike. Dad knew he would be hollering at me all the time!

I wasn’t going to post about it, but this is The Dog Thread, and he deserves it.   I’m sure I will continue to post older photos for a long time to come….but this is the last cup of morning coffee that I shared with my little guy this past week.7952C5ED-7803-43EE-BA02-270D43797E35.thumb.jpeg.7d07d907700ddc9889c50dc80238cafd.jpeg

RIP Colby.  He would have been ten this spring.

So very sorry to hear about Colby.

I have been through it too many times.

About all a person can do is grieve and remember the good times.

The joy of their companionship outweighs the pain of loss.

Sorry I don't have more comforting words for you.

My condolences.

Sorry to hear about Colby!!  I was just where you are, with our dog Willow, before Christmas.  It is definitely hard to let go of a companion!!

Winston’s been coming up to the shop every night with me and watching over me while I work. Laid down a pair of old coveralls for him the other night and it didn’t take him long to find them. Curled up and waited while I worked.

That's why this thread is here! Now, not only will you remember him forever, but he's in the RPF dog Hall of Fame, and whenever we go strolling back through, the rest of us can say that he looks like a really friendly dog -which he does!

Thanks for sharing!

The two dogs that grace the very first post on this thread are getting older and today I scheduled their annual vet appointment. I've procrastinated a little while honestly because I'm nervous about this year about what the vet might say.

My wife has had the heeler since before she had me. She was my step daughter's puppy. She's about fourteen and sharp and spunky, but definitely not a young pup anymore.

The setter is my best friend and I felt a bump on his ribs which scares the snot out of me.

I know there are wars in the world, there are hungry people, and we have friends on this very forum fighting the fights of their lives right now. I know I have a real first world problem, worried about my companion animal's health, but it stresses me out so much I got a freaking migraine over scheduling the appointment today. Can't tell my wife how nervous I am, or she'll get nervous too, so I'm telling you all.

There, I feel better. Thanks fellas!

@KWRBThis is Bell and Calle. Bell the Black Lab lived for several years after developing a lump like that.

Calle always thought the Wheel Horse was her Tractor; Bell had a hard time swallowing that.

I was going to post this in the topic, I hope we meet again, but decided that was a topic on the loss of our great dog Willow, and it started as a tribute to her, and I couldn’t do it to her.  So after roughly 50 days without a dog, we had an opportunity arise, I was uncertain, but my wife was all in! So, we welcomed Jovie into our home on Sunday the 5th! 970F8077-6F6E-4A9C-B6B3-E0B8FD25FD05.thumb.jpeg.1ca90953d15a2a46286eb80d8136dea4.jpeg

She is an 11 month old, German Shepard/Australian Shepard, that came from a young girl, who just had a baby, and couldn’t afford to keep her.

beautiful pup... bet that's a good cross.  good for everyone, ya'll, jovie, and the gal that wanted the dog to land well.

It’ll be interesting to see what she grows into for a dog! So far she seems to be a quiet, fairly well mannered pup! Jovie definitely landed well! She went from a 100% out door, kennel pup, to sleeping in the house, and 200 acres to run on!
