Or maybe

Bringing in the seals

Bringing in the seals

We shall come rejoicing

Bringing in the seals

🤪

Hope that song doesn't get stuck in your head all day today.

You're welcome😄

..that, Lorenzo,  is a worry..maybe he has the 'wheat germ '' ?? I would recommend   checking the genitals...if they are soft and doughy, swarming with  those pesky little arachnids,  you could end up with the dreaded ''blue crust   mould '' trauma....at which point he is beyond toast...  No known cure....other than Mr Wu's  hog pen.....:(..or , perish the thought,  @vtfireman85's  duck   stable....:)

Kind of a bitter sweet day today

I weaned my fall calves.

Part of the routine is putting the feed into the bunks with sacks and on foot.

Gus would always carry the empty sacks back and put them in a pile in the barn.

I would fold them in half so he wouldn't trip over them and he would be there to take them out of my hand.

I loved watching him prance to the barn with them, he was so happy, youda thought he was carrying a rooster pheasant with a 24" tail feather.  😄

Well, for the first time in ten years of weaning, he wasn't there to carry the sacks back.

I tried to grin and think of how much he enjoyed the routine and how I always got such a kick out of watching him prance to the barn but could not keep my eyes from leaking.

Gus was a good dog and provided me with many great memories.

I just have to keep my damn eyes from leaking and work on my smile more when I remember.

Thank you Lord for giving us dogs as unequalled companions.

He was happy, because he knew he was making you happy.

It's really that simple. We could all stand to take notes.

Had to say goodbye to an old friend / Family member . Our 14 year old black Lab . He had been getting multiple tumors showing up all over his body and had been losing weight . He started developing a bad cough and seemed short of breath with little exertion so we had to make a decision . What should be an easy decision due to his detoriating health is still a tough one to make . Took him to the Vet as there is no way I could have did it . He went peacfully .

RIP Remington .... you were definately a one of kind .

Looks like a great dog. If you're life were a book, how much better is it because of that guy? Worth every minute I'm sure.

I had to bury Max the other day, he was my companion for nearly 13 years.  He was up and about until his last day, I couldn't bear to put him down but he spared me that and passed on his bed in the garage with my wife and me by his side the next morning.

Thanks for listening, it's great that there are 77 pages of posts on a "dog thread" on an old machinery forum.
