The Dog Thread

I can't imagine a lot but that it happened at all is a nice story, a nurse with compassion outside of paid hours...or she sponge bathed and wouldn't mind a continued relationship after his discharge, I've got your dog and now would like to introduce you to my cat?

Does this happen a lot? I've never heard of it, but I suppose it's definitely possible.

Homeless?

Lived alone, no family?

Did it really happen?

Dunno but makes me feel good to think it did.

I'm sure it's happened. I'm just surprised we don't hear about it more. I've always said, there are all these dogs needing adoption, where are all their previous owners? I've only known one case of a pet going to a humane society. Owner died, only had elderly parents and school aged kids -no one to take the dog. If this (long hospital stays) does happen a lot, it seems like a good opportunity for a pet centered charity. A family with kids could get a trial run with an already trained dog, etc.

Agreed they provide an awesome service to anyone at their most vulnerable time but with the exception of Jeff are often poor cooks and can destroy equipment within a hospital with enviable efficiency 😳

Little Buddy had his echo today..not good. The left side of his heart is thickened and enlarged. They said he could go tomorrow but the doc said because hes a little guy she estimates 3 yrs...but who knows, could be ten. He starts beta blockers tomorrow. Good news is he can be a dog...he can still do agility training and run his big little heart til it stops.

So sorry to hear of his troubles.

Hopes and prayers you get to enjoy each other's company for a long time to come.

Welcome late rains bringing the grass and the cows went out this week.

Me and Cash run ahead and clear a path (some pastures have cows in em already) and the horses bring the cows behind us.

Cash lives to help move cows but he is getting older and gets stoved up pretty quick if I let him run too long.

Lotta miles to put on tomorrow taking the big bunch out west

At least this way he can go along and chase a calf or two for a bit.

Should be more comfortable than just the saddle pad on the bare rack.

I think he will appreciate it.

I don’t know what my little guy dreams about  but sometimes his legs get going 100mph and my wife will  lightly rub him to wake him up a little so he doesn’t tire himself out running in his sleep.
Other times he just snores  and smiles.

Cash does way more for me than I do for him.

That right there is the beauty of the canine! They do so much for us with nary a thought. Of course, treats always seem welcome.

Cash normally sleeps in the shade of the old black Dodge.

He has adapted quickly and is waiting for the first to ride in the new(to me) pickup.

Nice looking pickup Jeff. I'm sure Cash will enjoy the AC this summer.
