Is that a Buick or Olds? Those seats look like comfy couches

1980 Buick Electra Park Avenue, they are comfy, the driver's seat is losing it's form compared to the rest of the seats but is still plusher than most vehicles, and 6 way adjustable to boot!

Real sorry for your loss. I feel for you. Every since I joined RP I found out you had a Weimaraner. I followed you and Gus with your adventures. I also had a Weimaraner.  So similar to my Ashes. Weims are a real smart dog and so full of love. I know you will miss him as I still miss mine. She’s been gone about a year now. Always loved the silver coloring those dogs have

Feisty, my little rat terrier, is 13 years old now.  She has developed a cancerous growth near her "girl parts".  Very slow growth. Too risky to operate on her and She is comfortable with an occasional pain medication.   Vet thinks She has a a couple years left with us.  So, we are loving on Her these days.

Nothing more noble than caring for God's creatures.

I pray for her continued comfort, she looks like she is in good hands.

amen, mr. sandhiller, amen.  i'm in the "short rows" with my dolly, an english shepherd that was dad's dog (he passed in '14, and she's 13 now)... i put over $1k in operations on her last year, and she's on over $1k of meds a year for a back nearly fused with arthritis... I kind of identify in a spot of broke and healed vertebra from an all day drunk and a motorcycle and fence confrontation that i was a non-innocent participant in... i love this dog as much as any man has, and i think daily of how it'll go... like an obsessive that thinks he can solve the impending overwhelming loss (assuming naively that i'll live longer), i plan for this like the loss of parents, where i wept uncontrollably in the end, as that's the normality of grieving.  but, the end with dolly ain't come yet, and i pray with gratitude for the day and the life, every morning.  i pity the poor soul that never knew the fantastic devotion and love of a good dog.  my brother (the smarter brother, and i mean that sincerely) is a blogger in his retirement from a military intel career... he kind of summed up the whole dog man thing pretty well:  https://ripleyporch.blogspot.com/2021/10/which-came-first-domestication-of-human.html ... he also has the schnitzel republic blog site that is a good reference for what's going on in the ukraine (brother lives in germany in retirement).  i'm grateful for the red power forum in general, and for this topic in particular.  ya'll are a pretty good bunch for a lurker to read the posts of.

well said, and thanks, mike... heard a man say of his dog that had just passed at a local vet practice, "he was just a good old dog" ... i thought, man, if i could pick what i'd want said of me after i'm gone, that's as high a praise as there is.  told my cousin a while back, i'd picked out an epitaph for my tombstone (hoping that's a day far off, of course)... "mostly meant well"... for most dog's, that statement of their life goes unsaid.

You sir are amoung us whose souls are touched by our companions.

If I know nothing more about you, I know enough.

I pray the support and love you and Dolly provide each other continues as long as the Lord sees fit!

well said, and thanks... as long as the Lord sees fit is the wording I use... it's all we get, and it's generously enough.

I am a full time care giver. My 3 year old crawled up and went to sleep in my arms while I was watching Team Canada nudge out the lovely Anna Hasselbourg and team Sweden for bronze at Women's World Curling in Prince George B. C. IMG_20220327_151253.thumb.jpg.a1632d9e796c5820d4ae4100293fc27e.jpg

This thread breaks my heart and makes me smile too.. in 6 yrs we've lost 3 dogs...all of our dogs.

Our coon hound was the last and lost her last winter.

We dont have kids and dont plan to, so..our dogs fill that void. Its been quiet now for a year and just doesnt feel right. We miss them everyday.

We havnt been looking but happened on these two.. now Frank n Bud.
