The Dog Thread

My wife got pictures of the raccoon, but not the pup.

This raccoon and our heeler were playing a little game. The coon would come and start raiding the feeder, dog would bark, coon would retreat to the tree to wait her out. When the coast was clear, coon would return for more easy meal. It was cute.

They don't look wet. Mine would have been over in the tank.

I had just got the bull to the tank and pulled away so as not to bother him.

Gus is too old to get in a tank anymore but Cash would of made a beeline for it if I let him out?

Cash is getting older and slower but he still loves moving cows more than anything else.

I have to limit the length of time he can be out behind them so as to not over stress him.

It is truly his happiest time.

I have really enjoyed this thread. I am amazed that so many of you have so many dogs in your houses. My wife never had a dog in the house while growing up neither did I.  So we have just never had one in our house. Had a great blue heeler while the kids were growing up.  We live at a busy cross road , house is 30 ft from the road so we don't have a dog now.  Not going to have a dog if I have to keep it locked in a pen.

There are some pretty amazing houses on here. Real show places. Maybe not dog friendly.

Ours not so much. It is a place to eat and sleep and keep the rain off our heads

But mainly, dogs have been a part of my life since my memories start.

They are part of the family.

I grew up with 100 pound black lab, and then his 80lb son after he passed away . They each spent all of their time wherever the people were. If you were in the barn he was in the barn. If you were in the garage he was in the garage. If you were in the house eating, he was in the house eating. We slept inside, so did he.
I never knew I could enjoy a small dog so much until I met my wife who is highly allergic to dog and cat dander. Our oldest daughter is as well and therefore we need to find a hypoallergenic dog if we were going to have one. -He’s one of the best things we’ve ever done. If I am not home, he knows he is in charge home defense. Protect the ladies. He hears everything and responds appropriately, when needed. (Not a single bark when not). If I am home , he knows he can turn the canine security system down and then he spends most of his time sitting on a couch.  I’m pretty proud of him. He “sounds” like a much much bigger dog when he barks and growls.  Not “yippy” or “ankle biter” at all.
