Searcy, plz don`t take offense but...

K-9s have a BIG part in helping police.

They have skills NO man possesses.

But IMO, they are used TOO often to do the policeman`s job.

They are a great tool but not to be abused by the po-po.

Didn`t watch the video cause it wouldn`t load.

But sending a dog through a broken window and risking it`s health instead of just doing it with a cop and his gun.... not impressed.

oh i get it but it works, two of my very good friends, one my best are law enforcement offices one was also a K9 officer for 10 yrs and had two different dogs. How many times have you seen/heard hey if you dont come out were going to come in and drag you out, nothing happens, then you say were sending the dog in if you dont come out and he will eat you. Out comes the criminal.........Dogs get respect no man ever does ?

I cant sniff out a criminal in the dark - less dangerous for men to send in the dog and easier for a dog to sniff them out.

Officers have to be very disciplined not to send the dog unless warranted just like using a tazer, bean bag rounds or real bullets - i could see them being used inappropriately but i would much rather a dog die or be injured than a man.

Dogs are a dime a dozen - dont get me wrong i know how much they cost and how much time/training goes into them but a dog is an animal.

Maybe we should employ attack geese, we have had a few of those around from time to time and they get pretty bent out of shape LOL.

ok....

Myself? I would run into a burning building to save a life before I ordered a dog to do so.

You see, we can make our own choices.

We TRAIN dogs to do our bidding.

Not to be disrespectful Searcy as I do respect you, we just differ on this subject is all which is cool.

Hope you have a great Christmas also sir.

A dog will do what he is told to do, trained to do out of loyalty and he wants to please you. He doesn't know he is risking his life. Because of that trust, I could never put a dog into a situation where "I know" he is risking his life. That is a betrayal I couldn't live with.
