Looks like lots of snow for riding. Nice scenery.

Mine is down again. Went for a little ride on Saturday. Went to put it away Saturday night and the starter and idler gear went out in it. Disappointed in it now.  Pulled it all apart last now got and the starters shot and one tooth is gone off the idler gear.  Have to pull the stator rotor off yet and possibly the oil pan to find the missing tooth.  Magnets s all came loose inside the starter too.

Reminds me of northern sask with the rock water fall.

Got parts on order. Local dealer had the idler gear and gaskets but didn’t have a starter in stock. Yamaha is 680 bucks for the starter. He’s ordering me one from kimpex that he’s used in the past. It was 185 dollars instead. Getting it air shipped from Quebec so hopefully it’s hear tomorrow or the next day.  I should have it all out back together except for the starter by tomorrow so there’s a chance I can go riding this weekend yet if the rest of the sled cooperates.

Impressive total there. More then I’ve done all winter almost lol. I might go riding tomorrow, haven’t decided yet.  Brothers are going 2 hours north west of here again and want me to come with. Not sure I’m in the mood to drive 4 hours tomorrow though that’s the trouble.  Just got the sled all back together tonight again. Working good for now again. Almost scared to ride it and find out what’ll break next lol.

Had a real good ride today. Put on 190 Kms. Sled worked perfect today. Still nervous about it now though lol. Area we were riding through today was settled in the early 30tys in the depression. Some folks from southern Sk came up and tried to making a life for themselves but mostly all they found was hardship. Eventually the government bough all the land back and replanted what they had logged back to white spruce. You can see the nice straight rows of trees in one of the pictures.  Still some of the old buildings are still there but falling in on themselves. There’s a small cemetery there in the middle of the bush.

Probably no snowmobiling this week. Got moved back up to the bush and hopping to get it done this week. Not quite as much in the small block we picked out as we thought.   I might ride up there one day on the sled just for the heck of it.  I can get there quicker on the sled then I can in the truck anyways lol.

Took this picture with the drone yesterday. We had one days work in here. Spent 2 more full days now.  Piles starting to look a little bigger. I’ve got 3-4 more days cutting at skidding and I should have it all in the landing.

Took a couple more pictures this morning before I started felling trees again.  Got about 3 days left probably. Sounds like tomorrow might be a day off. Need a couple parts for the one chain saw and everyone’s a little bit stiff and sore lol.

Snow sure dropped in a hurry. Road was actually breaking up a bit right at our landing.

Came home tonight to find the snow from the roof curled right over the eve. I was going to leave it but I tried to knock off a bit where the evestrough runs across. The whole section let go at once and dropped onto the deck. On the west end of the house I through a small chunk of ice at it and the whole length let go at once too.  Lot of weight hanging there.

left from home this morning on the sled and drove up to where we are logging. Put in my 9 hour day and then went for a ride afterwards. Put on 120 Kms total. Fields are horribly rough now and you break through the crust and get bounced around a lot. Trails in the bush and the groomed trails are set up very hard now too. Need some scratchers on the sled to keep things cool.  Might be the last ride the way things are looking. Still lots of snow in the fields but they’re so rough it kind of takes the fun out of it.

Went out for a ride on Sunday. Some spot are drifted hard and then we found spots that were all powder yet. Was melting though too so the snow was soft during the day but crusted over at night. The perfect conditions were about an hour before dark. Snow was soft enough you could still play in it but it was cooling off enough the sleds ran awesome. But I think that might have been the last good ride of the year. Water laying in th ditches now

Got a few pictures but cant seem to load them

I’m hopping to do one more ride yet but it will ya e to be above 0 so it’s thawomg a bit. Might see if my brother wants to try and do one last trail ride this weekend. They’re closing a lot of the trails every day now seasons just about done for now anyways. I wouldn’t be surprised to see one more blast of winter yet before we’re it’s all said and done but by then it might be to little to late to go riding. Lakes and rivers are going to be starting to soften up too. Little creek by home has a trickle of water on it now so it’s just a matter of time.

I think I'm gonna take the quad out this weekend. Might ride the sled at home and on the lake yet too. Looking like snow for the end of next week. I don't think winter is over yet lol. I think the crows just came back too, and the old saying is three snows from the crowd. Usually pretty accurate. If we dont get the snow by the middle of April I can almost guarantee we will pay for it in May. Not uncommon for a May long snow storm lol
