Valves on UD-18, which is which?

Recommended Posts

Hello- want to set the clearance between valve tips and rocker arms but am having trouble

determining if a given valve is intake or exhaust. Three manuals no help.

I have a spare head for the one closest to the clutch ( cyl 4,5,6) and the sequence of valves for it starting

at the joint between the two heads and going towards clutch is  I,E  EI  IE., assuming larger valves are for Intake.

This does not agree with the pix in book for the UD-14 and book says the pix is "typical". I think

So, can someone give me the sequence in the head nearest fan, starting at fan and going

towards the clutch (cyl 1,2,3)? I THINK it is EI  IE  EI. Appreciate it, Jim.

....possibly follow ports of intake  from the sample

also exhaust may have extra different caps  per sample  or .002 different stem....?

per sample are 2 together then 3rd opposite so the manifold can bolt on
