IH skid steers

Recommended Posts

Bitty`s auction thread showed an IH skid steer.

Can`t say I`ve ever seen one around here.

Did that design transition into Case slid steers or did IH`s machines disappear?

Anyone ever have one? Weren`t they called "Hustlers"?

Would it have been yellow and white and have been a 3200A or 3200B?

I think the earlier ones had a walking beam on the front axle from side to side

I did a bunch of recall updates on 4130's at the first dealership I worked at. The engines had to have the head studs tested by torquing them and if the studs pulled out they needed to be drilled oversize and replaced. The new head gaskets were graphite and also the intake gaskets. Also they had external oil coolers installed and bigger air filters. It seems the NHCV's and the vacuum airflow didn't work out too well. The  NHC engine didn't have so much head gasket problems.

Yes, we had a 3200 series B that had the walking axle. I believe it was made by Great Bend. You could go over a 6 inch block and still have all 4 on the ground. Hard to get stuck with it but when you did it was a huge boat anchor in the mud. Couldn't quite pick up a big round bale. We put a Deere manure fork bucket on it and you could move a lot of pen manure quickly. You really had to dump it a few times as even the double beater spreaders in the 80s would just heave big piles off. It had the 4cyl Wi engine with a Magneto on it which quit a couple of times.
