RPRU truck displayed

Recommended Posts

Hi Friends-Can anyone tell me the year and model of the green and black pick up displayed @ RPRU?  It is also pictured on the top left corner of page 16 of the current issue of RED POWER. I'd love as much detail as possible!  Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Looks like a R series from. '53 '54 '55 can't tell what size it is from the picture but would be one ton or under. Probably 220 silver diamond with a 3 or 4 speed. Silver diamond is a over head valve in line 6. I am not real good on the R series trucks but  there will be someone come along with more knowledge on this series than me to correct me if I am wrong.

Its either a 53 or 54 as still has the split rear window,  8ft box with the spare tire on the right side.  I looked at the truck when we were at the show,  but didn't take any pictures of it thou.  Some time in late 54,  the 1 piece came out which carried onto the 55 model year.  Think this truck was a R-110.  Will see if my Dad took any pictures of it.

IH never worried about "Model Years", they made changes as they went along. As said on these forums, IH made a million trucks and no two were the same!

No idea what your talking about on model years.  First I have heard anybody talk about no model years.  1950 has no exposed door hinges,  1951 got external hinges.  52 was last year of the L.  C58D4374-B707-424E-B2B0-64517CBFC3F9.thumb.jpeg.cea7950c6a884d2b8ac9e3c94ab0e18a.jpeg

Thanks guys.  I know it was an 8ftbed with a four speed transmission

if I remember correctly there was another truck almost exactly identical to it there as well.
