IHRunner
So. This happened. Not exactly humane what i did. But interesting all the same. Joseph saw eyeshine on his optic. Took a shot and realized he scared a rabbit. Completely missed. But she wasnt moving. So i decided to go chase it and see if i could catch it. Well. I shone my phone flashlight on it. And it stopped. And while i had it blinded. I crept up very close....at the last second she tried to run. And uhhh....i kicked at it. And booted it about 30 ft and killed it. You'll find no bullet holes in it. I broke its neck when i kicked at it. Joseph watched it all from his scope. And laughed from 100 yards away in the pitch black. So i brought it home...imma cook it tomorrow lol
Sledgehammer
You couldn’t even make that up. Just weird. I had a buddy once that baled out of the truck when he saw a baby raccoon run into a culvert close by. He grabbed it and held it (being kind and gentle). The coon went into shock and died right there in his hands. He felt bad because he never intended to hurt it. I watched it all happen

exSW
You probably killed it quicker than a cat, coyote, hawk or eagle would have.

IHRunner
I had a rough start to my day. Was singing my tune. Ice fishing and stuff. Ice fishing and stuff. And stepped off my tree right on to 2in crap ice. Straight down. Soooo. That was neat. Had to change clothes then change my plan
IHRunner
Decided to target some bigger ficch today. And it worked. I caught only semi wild troutheads and a nice 2lb bass All the trout i caught for the most part were 2-3 years old including a stumpy but talllll 13in male.
IHRunner
Very different colors on the skinned troutheads when they have survived a few years. Also. 4 hours in a bucket and i could have released this guy. So angry and pissed off and strong. Not a stupid day old stocker.

Yeah, I had a bad experience like that three weeks ago. While trying to help a friend get a trail camera from across the creek in my canoe (creek was bank full and running hard, 60’ wide) he decided to lean too far dumping us as we went across the creek. We got swept down stream and into a tree. I lost a boot, my canoe, and both paddles. We were on that tree for about 30 min before a boat showed up (we called) to get us out. Water was probably 45-50° at the time. Could have been really bad. I found canoe a week and a half later, and one paddle. Can’t take that cold water for granted. 2

Im glad you guys are ok. Im gonna have to bring you down here. Our creeks are only like 20ft across lol. I had a lighter in my pocket and some “wet fire” in case someone got wet. Lighter wouldn’t work after taking a dunking. Even had a sheath knife on my belt which I rarely do in case I needed to shave down tinder. The other guy is a big fella and hadn’t been in a canoe much. I offered to go across alone if he wasn't comfortable. I’d say the creek that you could walk across today was 12-15’ deep that day. We got washed into the tree and the canoe got drug under popping out on the other side. I grabbed it and had ahold of it but the water was trying to drag me under also. It ripped my left boot off and I told myself I was an idiot for trying to save stuff and tossed the canoe which allowed me to be able to climb up on the tree. Stuff isn’t worth drowning for so then it was try and get help. Made a couple phone calls and had a duck boat with a surface drive mud motor down there in about 30 minutes. I never got cold, even walking out through knee deep water with one boot gone until about 30-45 min later when the adrenaline wore off. Found the canoe a week and half later about 1/2 mile down stream. It was still in fine shape luckily. Have recovered both floating cushions and found one paddle walking the bank since then. I was just glad to find the canoe.

IHRunner
Long obnoxious day. Had a bunch of stuff to do. Been working with a company out of Denver on some 2A related stuff. Had to spend most of the day at the hill testing gear. So i decided to stop and grab lunch. Only problem is...ice...n stuff. That is a 20ft circle of open water. About 7ft deep...so i had to go adventure to some running water. Deeper parts of the creek right below the big beaver dams. 7-10 feet deep.
