Correct lol. I will say that our trout in the creek with the current clean up fast as well
exSW
Is that a true creek or an irrigation canal?

Its sometimes river fed. Sometimes canal fed. But 90% rainwater
IHRunner
First picture is the bent fort canal holding facility. Second is the road12 flood zone. You see daelyn and i fish it a lot. Beautiful area of exposed sandstone and good bass ficchin. Third is where the lamar canal flows under clay creek. There is a pipe that feeds the main body of clay creek as well as the pond. But it only accounts for sustained water flow. Even shut off like the canal has been for a month or so now the creek maintains its water level and right now is actually high due to some rain and snow. Fourth is the higbee pond and shooting range. Mike higbee donated all the land to the state to be a small walk in sportsman paradise. Fish. Deer. Bobcats. Coyotes. Turkey. Pheasants. Dove. All walk in access. Last is the main fishery. I fish there some. Usually only during trout season. But dae and i enjoy it for giant panfish and the state record bass was nearly set out there this year. Not a lot of species. And it can be a grind. But its beautiful.

Sledgehammer
That country looks like you could shoot for miles if the gun would handle it. I’m sure there is more roll to it that what it looks. Still pretty country.

My farthest target is at 1200 yards. Its 24x24. I only have three rifles i can hit it with consistently. Im just not as good as a lot of these guys nowadays. I change rifles too much and dont drill with just one. But yeah. Its actually basically that flat lol. In the picture you can just barely see blake ranging out the two closest targets. 250 and 400 now. The 700 yard one you cant even see with a naked eye lol. Need better paint on her. exSW
Pretty spec. Will those stocked fish spawn and survive?
IHRunner
1 minute ago, exSW said: Pretty spec. Will those stocked fish spawn and survive? They spawn. Eggs die though down here. The trout are capable of surviving in this creek if they can avoid the giant largemouth and catfish. And they do survive a lot, some get 14-16 inches. But never enough to spawn. Our water is too warm down here. We thrive on medium temp species. Giant crappie wiper and walleye. As well as largemouth and cats.

IHRunner
Dumb crankbait eating troutheads. Saw some green sunficch minners and started throwing my little crankbait. Took the front treble off to help with not murdering 100 trout.

Sledgehammer
Trout aren’t walleye or crappie but they are still tasty. Harder to clean with all the bones but can still be a very good meal.
