TeachersPet1066
I have been wanting a 544 gas rowcrop for some time. Dad bought one new for $4000 plus H on trade. Was sold in 1986 farm sale. Found one when picking up some weights and thought it needed saved from the weeds.

TeachersPet1066
Thanks Eason answered a few emails/posts and was definitely a big help, along with the other replies from members. Got 544 emblem from Jeff - not one salvage yard had one.
Bullwinkle
Great job! Hope it runs as good as it looks for you. New grill or were you able to straighten the old one? Good looking pair of helpers.
TeachersPet1066
A friend who is an excellent welder was able to do some work on the original grill and save it. Helpers were excited to get it running

George 2
Nice. I am presently restoring a companion tractor, the International 544 utility gear drive gasoline. It is a fun project for myself and my son.

My father (who is in his 80s) spent a lot of time glass beading for me and sharing a lot of stories...and loves seeing his grandchildren on the same model that he had. Glad you two are having a fun project as well.
lightninboy
Is there a good source of throttle knobs and shifter knobs and a good way to attach them?
TeachersPet1066
I purchased from CNH, Steiner, and All-State AG. I did not use anything to hold them on because they were a good tight fit on the 544. On my 1066 the one was loose and I noticed that my dad used 3M glue adhesive cause he saw it was loose....glue dripped down. I have considered JB weld & wonder how that would work.
