redneckchevy9
So far we got lot of votes for Fords, few Jd and plenty of Cockshutt & Olivers. No mention of MM...were they kind of a dying breed when it came to the era of tractors that seemed to be discussed here.
Big Bud guy
I kinda like all tractors/brands. Kind of boring to be limited to just one brand. I have IH and JD along with a Massey, Oliver, Gambles/Cockshutt, Versatile, AC, and of course a Bud. I am partial to Case wheatland tractors mostly notably from the LA to the 930. Wouldn't mind having a small Cockshutt collection or tractors that used a 6 cylinder Chrysler like Massey. If there was one brand I am least fond of it would probably be Allis. Other then the D21 and the little B, there really isn't anything they made that gets me going.
Hydro70
My favorite other brand would have to be my 1970 MF 1130 and the other would be a Allis Chalmers

A guy here by home that we farm his ground has a bunch of Cockshutts and Coop tractors and other odd ball brands. I don't know if he has one of every model but he isn't missing it by much My grandpa farms with all Allis Chalmers and I've been around them my whole life but none of them have the cool factor that a 66 series IH have but as far as usefulness the 6000 series and 8000 series have most all of them beat for the time period. We have a D21 but it's nicer to look at that it is to use, in my opinion.
Ihcubguy
For me it would be Case. I know that's not necessarily a well received brand here though. When my pap ran our farm he had a 1270 tractor, 600 and 800 combines, a 320 backhoe and a 2 row Case stalk shredder mixed in with all the IH. Really miss running that 1270. I know it is said that the powershifts can be an issue but we never had major problems with ours. Gotta say after that I am a Ford/New Holland fan. Ran many an hour on a 6610 and a 5000. They are some pretty thrifty machines that have great power. Likes been said already an 8/9000 or 86/9600 would be sweet but I also like the looks of the TW series like a 20. FarmerFixEmUp
Dang, How old is that corn in the corn cribs? Bet there's a a few rats in those cribs. You didn't miss the 12/1456 did you? I kind of like the 50/55 series Oliver's 2-135 and 155 White's. 9600 9700 Ford's. 30 70 and 90 series Case.
ihrondiesel
I took that picture just to show that ‘56 in the background. That’s actually TheSD5488’s neighbor, maybe he snuck that ‘56 on the yard? ?

Rick G.
I always liked Alice Chambers after IH. er I mean Allison Chalmpers, er I mean Alexis Chamers, er I mean Alex Chalmplers, er I mean Allis Chalmers. I was always looking for a 220 to play with but never found a nice one reasonably priced.

Delta Dirt
DT Fan---- I see you have what looks to be an A-C 620 (yard/garden tractor) in your shed. I have my dad's 620-----it needs an engine. Have a roto tiller and belly mower to go with it. Is there any market for these little critters??? Really neat little tractors with hydrostat, 3 pt hitch, remote hydraulics. This one had the 20 hp Onan engine. I am thinking Simplicity built these for A-C?? ****** I am sorta like Big Bud------I like all tractors. Always interesting to see a different engineer's thinking. Some were better than others-------but I noticed that they all had parts books, parts counters, service shops and service bulletins!!! DT Fan
It's a 720 (almost the same thing). Yes, there is a market for the attachments and the tractor. Wish you were closer.

Delta Dirt
What engine did the 720 have??? Seems like the 20 hp Onan always had a lot of vibration. I think the intake manifold worked loose-------and sucked dust into the engine. Seems like he bought it in the mid '70s. I always intended to put a new engine in it-------but stalled out now with grey hair. DD
bitty
If it wasn't IH it would have to be Farmall. Otherwise I'll settle for a boxcar Magnum especially an 8950..... I don't follow directions well. We had 4 JD tractors in the last 15 years. I will have no more as every dealership I have tried to deal with is a bunch of "donkeys" (that begin with the letter A). I have access to neumerous cnh dealers that are nice to deal with. I realize that some have the opposite dealership woes that we have here but it's our situation

I have had this one less than a year but would repower if something happened to the Onan.
