Mr Oglesby called me back today. It would have sold through his dads IH dealership back then. Unfortunately his dad passed away in '07. I gave him the S/N and hes gonna see what he can dig up. It sucks but apart of it that so many original owners and dealerships and records are long gone. Im still stoked i found a dealership stickernon it to see where it sold new.

Pulled shifter top cover off expecting to find a usual loader tractor worn out shifter and missing detents. HA! Detents still in place, spring had broke making it feel like detents were gone. Must have broke long ago because very little wear on detent corners. New spring and it clicks and falls in gear like a new/rebuilt one. Still need to rebuild shift levers.

This one will be getting a diamond cab later on. Added hyd seat, clutch assist, better condition front axle, rebuilt shifter plate, factory hyd break aways, front mount hyds, nice cindition precleaner, better 3pt parts, drawbar suppprt and sway limiters, hd drawbar, 11.00-16, 20.8x38 BF Goodrich RC tires off salvage 1466, rear weights and dual hubs.

Still needs, all new wiring, new water pump, front main seal, new upper shifters rebuilt, might as well rebuild inj pump. Shes a pretty healthy 1456. Wish the sheetmetal was in better shape.  Heat is about worn me down and i decided to wait untill it cools down to tackle some of this big chore items.

I have only putted this one around the yard.  Once i get front main, water pump and rewired ill let her rip down the road. These BF Gs. Have the solid tread around the whole tire. They dont hop around the yard like longbar/shortbars do. I took yhe Kellys off and put them on the 1256. Im not a R&C tire fan but they have choice over DT710s and over LB/SB. Gives it a swamp moster look but with a TA. I might but 18s back on it but it neat to have something different. Im not putting tilt steering on it. I like how the factory 20.8s have the 16 wheel clamps vs 12.

Even with rebuilt shifter plate im still having problems poping out of high while letting clutch out. Wondering if slop in shift fork is causing it. Adjusted linkages several times and no improvements. Down side of loader tractors, the Sloppiest shifters.

Itll get the cab put on this winter. All new wire harnesses. Dash panel harnesses are wired for the cab so its ready to go. New radator, water pump, rebuilt shifters, top and bottom, rebuilt and powder coated hyd seat suspension, powder coated dash panels and shifter cover. Id like to find a 26/56 hyd seat cushion set and better condition hood.

Those original cushions look to be in good shape. I really wish some one could recreate them to look more realistic than what I’ve found.

Brian where do you find all of your seat components?  Mostly junk yards?

Junk yards and salvage tractors i buy. Its taking 2-3 hyd seat suspensions to make 1 good one. Local hardware store has the bushings for them.

1st cool day in a long time. Got some loose ends tightened up this afternoon.

Going to start installing cab soon but other projects are piling up. New 1066 in the shop, 1026 waiting to be picked up and come into shop. One thing i did different is i used 16 rim clamps vs standard 12. Dont see many with 16 clamps used. It was factory for 20.8s while 18.4s had 12. Helps show the difference. Im starting to prefer the 16 clamps on the 3.5" wheels now.
