superih
I have read on here that guys are using Cat 2P-2333 sealer to seal up exhaust manifolds, how are you guys using it? Apply the paste to both sides of the manifold gasket or run no gasket and just the sealant or what? The product the Cat store sells as that part number is "Loctite MR 2000 Extreme Temperature Putty"
ZG6E
Only place I've seen that used is in between the 2 and 3 piece manifolds, not in place of a gasket.

Alex uk
I have used some Loctite brand sealer , don'y have the box at hand . Its a copper impregnated silicon . It is an official AGCO part to be used on Sisu engines in the larger Masseys and Valtra tractors. I had it when I had the head off a Sisu engine in a Massey, they dont use gaskets and this was listed in the parts book to be used there. Worked fine . Do AGCO have an on line look up? DirtBoyz07
Yes you use your gasket , this stuff is just for the splits in the manifold . If your looking for away to seal between the manifold and head surface the manifold then get the gaskets that are made out of a gasket type material not the tin gaskets . Clean the head good with a die grinder and wire cup brush . Then go to your auto parts store and get the orange hi temp silicone and apply this to both sides of the gasket and bolt it on . I would again tell you to wait a day before running it if you have some rough areas on the cylinder head that your trying to seal up .
