Probably my favorite tractor, but 10 -12 thousand is pretty steep if it has to pay for itself on my operation. So the steering column and dash up a ways is black.  does that make it a gold demo??

I find this interesting, as I didn't pay close enough attention to the serial number list here to see that this one was already listed over a year ago.  It now has a new home & owner, me. 😎

One of the most sought after "collector " tractors but after you own one and still have the right kind, size of equipment to pull behind it is one handiest,go to,most pleasurable tractors to run .

I know they made roughly 2450 1026's,I just wonder how many are still out there, not scrapped.Must be quite a few because they still come up for sale.

You have my number I believe. 8782 in Missouri, original Gold Demo out of Louisiana, never repainted red at dealer. I believe it's the earliest known Gold demo 1026

Was a sugar cane loader tractor. Rough was not the word, but it's one of my most favorite tractors in my collection. Love driving it!

I really like the white wheel weights on that demonstrator. Look nice next to the dark gold patina!

I hunted that stack of wheel weights down that I saw years earlier just to put them on there and had to pay dearly for them lol. I like them too and I don't ever plan on painting it.

What do wheel weights go for in your neck of the woods? If you don't mind me asking that is.

I got these from a big salvage yard that are known for being high on parts. They wanted 175/per set and there was 4 sets. I talked them down to 150/set.  You can buy wheel weights just about anywhere for 125/set normally. I just wanted that patina.

OK. I knew stuff in the Midwest was way higher for IH stuff than here in the South but I never knew what rear weights went for. I guess more demand since it seems like way more running and working up there still. They are a good bit cheaper "here". And to be honest, when I get ready to buy another tractor and a combine I'll being looking in the Midwest.  There are no 14 series combines running within a 100 miles of me it seems.

I saw it listed as salvage, after I bought it, that is why I asked what you knew about it. It is supposed to run, but has injection pump issues. Hydro has approximately 500 hours on it since rebuild. Tractor was in Nebraska Sandhills, now in eastern Ne. Front axle was changed, supposedly was Front assist.Screenshot_20220221-064220_Messages.thumb.jpg.2e76534e1c11a1fe338eccac5eb62d16.jpgLong Farm's, I recently purchased this tractor, what can you tell me about it.

I just bought this one at public auction in PA. I grew up on this tractor. It was used primarily to pull a 2 row Lockwood potato harvester. 4400 original hours. Non gold. 8 bolt front hubs. 15.5-38 rears (for potato harvesting) on wedge lock wheels. Factory fast hitch. It’s been sitting for 18 years inside until 2 weeks ago for the auction. Located in Hitchcock, SD

I grew up on that actual tractor. I grew up in PA, and worked for the man that owned that tractor. When he started slowing down, he rented me some land and let me use his equipment. Through life changes, I moved to SD. His estate auction was just held 8 days ago. I’ve stayed in touch with his children throughout the years, and they are like family to me. I went back to PA to help with the auction, getting all the equipment out and lined up.  That’s kind of the short version of the story.
