what chassis & boom are you running?

Mine is a tri-axle dump truck.  KW T800, C15, double frame, 20,000/46,000, 16' tall side bed with AR steel lined.  Sorry for the confusion.

Amazing how you can poke that drywall in through those little bitty windows.

Sure glad I don't have to handle it.

This was today...it was gravy.  Sometimes when dealing with 8 footers can be tricky dependingon the overhand on some of these old houses.

Call this the scorpion...when enough weight is out front to pull the drive axles off the ground.

Did your company get that truck brand new??

nope...we bought it in 2003 from V&H Truck Sales out of Madison, WI.  When I started here almost 7 years ago, it was a mess!  I couldn't take it after driving only one day & spent all weekend cleaning it up.

goverment work for the county :)  Salt shack in Mt. Carroll, IL

20170809_113852.jpg

An insulation company in Rock Island back around 1983/'84 got the contract with the Illinois Toll way Commission to supply all the insulation for the shop buildings at all the maintenance areas on all the toll roads in northern Illinois.  Guess who got to deliver all those loads?  They were light loads,  full 45 ft trailer would only weigh 5000-6000 #, but it was a Fingerprint load,  I had to drag the bundles/rolls to the back of the trailer and slide them to one or two guys on the ground.  Those guys put them on a carrier on a mobile crane that set them on the roof and 1-2 guys set the bundles on the roof.  New roof went over the top.  None of those maintenance buildings are on any kind of a map,  and I had to be there on time, the crane and crew were all on the clock.

Ohhh, By the way, I know exactly where that salt shack is in Mt. CARROL.  That was our route from the Quad-Cities to Freeport.

Right by the big elevator.  This was the last roof they did...same contractor replaced all the roofs on the site.

My fun the other day...it took all my boom length to make this work.  Contractor was great and was my eyes when I couldn't see my forks.

Reason I ask is it looks like a boom we used to have at our lumber yard.    They deal with V&H.

You must operate that truck like an extension of your body Redneck. Nice work!

I think you are waaaay underpaid.

Some days I feel the exact same way, but I do try to remember I'm working in a family owned 1 yard company.  My job allows a flexible schedule for my kids and their sports.

I do actually really enjoy running boom trucks!  Plus I can get cool farm shots like this one.
