You can Cermikote the pipe flat black ,it will stand the heat.

You know , We are use to seeing wheels dished out. However, on restored show tractors I think dished in with rims on in side bevel ,to give deep look gives these bigger girls a nice look, imho.

Are you talking about Cerakote?    That's a finish being used by several gun manufactures .  It is baked in an oven during the last part of the process. I have also used it without the oven. with great results on surfaces that do not get hot.  Im not sure Cerakote withstands as much heat as other options.

As for Jet Hot I have used them for the headers on my car and also the first pipe after the turbo on my Peterbilt with what I consider perfect results.

Larry

Thanks for the advice. I am probably going to just send it to jet-hot as I'm sure that will work.

I searched for Cermikote but couldn't come up with anything.

Jet-hot coats pipes flat black. I emailed them for quote.

If you have a better source could you let me know a contact otherwise I will probably try jet-hot as I've heard decent feedback about them

Thanks, Dennis

Thanks Tony I will call them when I get ready to coat it.

The place I store this tractor has low door opening so the pipe is short to clear door. I think I can get a little taller pipe once I get front tire decisions made so I will probably be buying a new pipe and getting that one coated.

The RD pump change over was costly but I think I'm going to like it.  Runs and sounds like a whole different tractor.

How can ya not love an 806 with a RD pump and 12 inches of orange flame out the stack at night plowing with the lights off!!  That's my child hood memory riding with dad.

Nice Job, nice looking tractor.

Thanks for sharing that memory.

They did used to have a fire out the stack when pulled hard that's for sure.

short update:

I finally decided what I was going to do about front rims/tires.

I painted the rims red over the weekend and am just going to keep the tall tires.  In a perfect world I wish they were a little shorter but I will get used to it and with the red rims it doesn't draw your eye to them as much.

I took one pic but plan to take a bunch today or tomorrow if the wind quits blowing.

No thumbs up emoji here but that's what you would get.  Again, looks very nice.

Yes - what a great looking job! To be honest, I'm OK with white or red front rims - however, with the red rims it is a fierce looking machine. Very well done.
