9B ready to go to work

Recommended Posts

After sitting for 10 plus years (engine compartment caught fire) we found time to work on it, rebuilt head, rebuilt turbo, rebuilt injection pump, injectors, new glow plugs, paint upholstery. Starts better than ever, sounds great. Still need to paint the blade and tool bar carrier.post-54438-0-33857300-1463171028_thumb.jpost-54438-0-24959800-1463171044_thumb.jpost-54438-0-88935800-1463171074_thumb.jpost-54438-0-79294100-1463171060_thumb.j

Paint is ACE Machine & Implement oil based enamel, 225A139 School Bus Yellow (Gloss). Rust-Oleum Old Caterpillar yellow matches.

PTO is factory accessory.

Decals were made by a local print shop. I gave them dimensions and pictures, they took it from there.

There used to be that California used equipment site that often had tool bar stuff and a lot of ag crawlers. I think it went away but it was odd to see how California farming differed from other parts of the country.

You mean this setup? We have it, the tool bar and the dozer, we use the dozer more than the tool bar, the tool bar is set up with three ripper shanks, 33 inches deep, we don't rip too much any more, our soil is sandy loam, 60 to 80 inches deep on top of decomposed granite, the drainage is excellent, we can work ground two days after heavy rains. When I mount the tool bar carrier I will post some pictures.

The reason there are so many of the turn around tool bar carriers in the West is because they were built at the Stockton Products Farm Equipment Works in Stockton, CA. Stockton works built farm equipment for West Coast farming.  Tool bar carriers (combination carriers) were made for TD6's thru TD20's.

In my area I am the only one with this type of setup. They were used more in the San Joaquin, Sacramento and Salinas valley's. Now everything is on a three point behind four wheel drive or Cat challengers..
