sugarmaker
So I take it that the blue is masking for the black to be painted in the background? It looks like a real nice original emblem! Hang on to it they seem to be tough to find. Regards, Chris

Rawleigh99
LOL, I thought it was blue paint as well!! Nice job of masking!! If you need to paint raised lettering, the foam makeup wedges they sell by the bag at the pharmacy work great. They are a real fine firm foam and are disposable. RustyNumbat
Truly a thing of beauty in this thread, lovely to see machines redone and ready to go on for another 60 years! Don't we all wish we had the money and time to achieve this ourselves!
td-18
I know it a bit difficult to see but the casting date tag on the engine block reads 12-30-N according to the quick research I did that was 1944, I don’t think it looks to bad for being 73 years old today! waterloo
With so many paint products being removed from the market because of lead content. It is hard to find products that really work well.
Mogulman
How is the wire screen held in place on the grill? We were debating it on our T-6, if it even had one at all. Also, what is the gauge thickness and square pattern, that is how thick is the wire and how many squares per inch? Things are looking great on that project. Thanks! td-18
It has some tabs that bend over and hold it in place , it has five squares per inch , I was able to find some at Steiner tractor parts
Mogulman
Where do they hold it? Ours has no tabs on the grill. Do the tabs hold it on the vertical bars?
Redwood
The grills on the crawlers have the screen tabs but grills for stationary engines do not.

sugarmaker
Mouglman, Sounds like you dont have the tabs in the back of the grill. My TD6 had the tabs. most were still ok. I used a little larger hardware cloth with 1/4 inch squares. Hope the correct police dont have me take it back out!:) Some pictures on my thread too.
