1206 serial number registry

It has been a few years since I have updated you guys on the 1206 serial list and to be honest I haven’t been too active with it since my son’s accident back in 2008. So, I will give credit where credit is do to Red Reaper for carrying the torch and keeping things going. He has recently sent me his most updated list and I have spent some time sort through and drill into some detail. After breaking down the tractors in each state I have to think there are many more tractors out there that could go on the list. There are probably some who don’t want their tractor on the list and if you don’t I want to assure you that over the years Kristin and I have been very careful in respecting people’s privacy by not publishing the list and sharing owners information. Matter of fact on many we don’t have names let alone phone numbers. It’s nice to have that information but if you don’t want to give that up, a town and state is good enough. Also this list was started back in about 2001 and I’m sure some of our serial numbers are out of date with all of the 1206 activity over the years. Hope you guys enjoy update.

This is only an update for the FARMALL list at this point.

The list has 1494 tractors.

Sets of sequenced numbers is 175

3 numbers in a row is 35

More than 3 numbers in a row is 9

The most in a row is 4

One number apart is 53

The most interesting number grouping is

7785

7786

7787

Missing

7789

7790

7791

7792

Sure would be cool to have 7788 in that bunch and have all 8 lined up at RPRU.

Here is a breakdown per each thousand.

7000= 121

8000 = 211

9000= 172

10000= 173

11000= 165

12000=165

13000= 150

14000= 173

15000=164

There are 5 of the preproduction 500 numbers.

Thanks for the update. Sure would be neat to find the last serial # production and park it beside first production. 7501

Do we know what the last 1206 serial # production is?

Got CRS, I may have asked that before??

Did you guys put the Prototype units on the list ? I have talked to all the owners of these , 501,503,505,508, and 511. 501 and 503 are in northern IL . 505 and 508 are in my shed and 511 is in norther MO .

Thanks IHBrad, it sure would be nice if all keepers of serial numbers would do the same as IHBrad has done here. I never have understood 1 member holding a tractor by model registry if they are not going to share it. Not saying you have to list names as mentioned above but total numbers and by State is very interesting to look over. The way I see it is why give the numbers for one member to lock away? It's not a privacy issue if you just present as he did above.

Very Nice Work Brad!!!

Presenting the serial number isn't a problem, just the owner info unless it's on a need to know basis. The serial registry isn't really being ran on these 1206's for specifically public knowledge, it's done for several reasons, mainly research, and helping locate an original family tractor. We have located a handful of these 1206's for their long lost owners now. You cannot imagine how excited a 70 year old man gets when you tell him over the phone, "Yes, I know where it's at" The information gained about mid year model changes, serial breaks etc... has been very helpful in restorations and understanding the 1206.

Danny, yes, all the prototype information is on the registry. I have tried to include casting dates when I can get them, and engine serial numbers on those models, as well as the first few off the assembly line. Tons of information has been gathered by that alone.

The 500 serial were not general knowledge by almost anyone until the serial list started gaining steam. I remember when the owner of Wheatland 501 wrote what he had and it was really not believed until he showed a pic of the serial number.

I see Farmall #7816 has been on the Dubuque CL for a couple weeks. Says 3745 hours. No clue as to whether it it one you already have listed, and/or belonging to a member on here. I have no affiliation nor any other information.

Thanks

Mark

DT361, yes I have it listed on CL, and 2 other placed prior to that. I also have previous in line 7815 located in Ontario Canada, and then next in line 7817 located in Richmond IA. Owned by Dennis Henshaw. Dennis if you see this, here's your chance to own consecutive numbers!

We just finished cleaning up one of the 1206's on your list in Canada. Thought I would share some pictures while on the topic. Tractor came out of Ohio in 2008. It made its truck ride up here with this 806. The plan was to sell one of them keep the other. They are both still here so we all know how that plan played out.

What's up with Iowa hogging all the 1206's, lol

We got ahead start on everyone else, first one came to Corwith Iowa, #7501 :)

Don't feel bad Longfarms, we've been doing it for a bit longer and there are more 12's out there than 14's. We wouldn't have near this many if it weren't for everyone sending them in and helping us find them.

So I have a poll question. If serial numbers 501 and 7501 were sitting next to each other for sale which one would be most valuable? Assuming everyone knows the story on the 500 serial numbered tractors.

How about who owns the most 1206's and what State they reside in?.

I'll put a bid in on that one as I have 7 at the present time, in Iowa.

Row crops are 8567, 9421, 11618, 11851, 12781, 14719. Wheatland is 8660.

They all can be used and run, only 1 repainted and restored so far.

One of my retirement accounts.

Just added #8 it is F1206 11112 Row Crop TA ICB cab hub duals and a Solar whistle.

To the best of my knowledge you might take the trophy of the owner with the most running 1206's. Red Reaper may be able to confirm.
