I was sitting out tonight on my patio enjoying my Sunday evening ritual of enjoying a cigar and adult beverage. Shortly before sunset I heard a noise over my shoulder behind me, my wife came out at the same time and I heard her exclaim, "You got to be kidding!" . I turned around and looked up in the sky and there was a large drone just hovering over our property. This definitely was not a child toy, it was large 2-3' and set up with navigation lights. It stayed over our place for a couple of minutes and then moved over above the neighbors place, and then flew out of sight. Our house is completely surrounded by woods, the house sits back 500 off the road, and we cannot see any of our neighbors. My wife, who is not a gun person, said that I need to take some skeet practice at it! She is more upset than me, but if it happens again, I might have to send a load of goose shot out of the 12 gauge at it! Actually, I know that I can't shoot at it, but I will call the police the next time. It feels like a real invasion of our privacy, we live where we live for a reason, and don't need to have people snooping like this. Not that I am doing anything illegal, we just want to be to ourselves. I know licenses are needs to operate them, is there a registry of flights that we could track down the flier? This was definitely a commercial unit. What would you guys do? How would you handle this incident? Any words of wisdom from guys who have them? Thanks
