  1. The left hand side of the draft sensing shaft is leaking on my 886. Can this o-ring be replaced from the outside or do I need to drain the rear frame and remove the PTO to replace it from the inside?
  2. I picked up an 895 from an auction last week that seems to have some issues with the pto and 3pt lift. If I move the pto lever, I can see it moving the hydraulic valve looking thing to the left of the seat, but it never spins. Hydraulic oil is at the right level, and if I manually spin the pto shaft from the rear, I can feel gears meshing internally. Does anyone have any suggestions for things to check? Ideally without opening up the tractor, but I suspect that's going to be necessary... The other issue, is the 3pt hitch lift will move up and down with the draft control, but does noth
  3. I have a 1962 IH 404 that I'm having some issues with. I've noticed that when the tractor first starts and until it runs for about 30 minutes or so, the pto shaft continues to spin even though it is disengaged. If I grab the pto shaft, it's not engaged and will stop spinning. If I engage the pto, it works correctly. Now, after the tractor runs for awhile and gets warm, this problem goes away. I'm wondering if this is an adjustment issue and if so, what needs to be adjusted? Since this tractor doesn't have live pto, I feel like this is connected to other problem I have which is that until
  4. 2006 Case DX55 pto remains engaged, lever works fine, not sure what would cause the pto to always turn.
  5. I am in the process of restoring my 1940 Farmall H Serial FBH-21044 and have finally tracked down the original Small diameter, Slotted PTO assembly for this tractor. I also have the later style splined PTO assembly that I would like to use instead. Can anyone tell me if the existing counter shaft in this tractor is usable by simply removing the "adapter" #59372DX? While I am able and actually have a used counter shaft that I believe will work with the later style PTO, I am really not excited about tearing the entire transmission down to swap out counter shafts if I don't have to. 6. Hello everyone, Im new to the forum, Love all the info. I've been a lurker for years. Ive always enjopyed IH tractors. I've read a lot of the previous posts which has helped, however I do still have a problem with my 1086.. If you could help troubleshoot this with me, i'd really appreciate it! 1086 tractor, closed ceter hydraulics. below is the time line of what i noticed happening. noticed that the PTO had trouble staying engaged early in the fall. it eventually stayed on when I was chopping clover. later in fall I noticed that the 3PTH wouldnt stay up. It was moving
  7. Broken low speed PTO shaft. Broken about 1 inch out from the gearbox. (This is the output shaft going to the implement) How difficult of a job to replace this shaft? I know how to get the PTO off. Just not familiar with tearing into the guts of the PTO and replacing this shaft. Any help appreciated. Thank you.
