  1. Is there a way to check the pump pressure on my 1486? I have an engine knock that appears to be fuel related. I have replace the injectors and blown out the return line and still have a knock. Engine will only start with starting fluid. I have already check to make sure timing is correct on pump and flywheel
  2. Hi, I have a Farmall H that I just rebuilt the carb on. I am getting fuel to the bowl if the carb but not into the engine. I cleaned all ports and jet but still nothing. Does anyone know what is happening, thanks
  3. How do I check my pump timing on a dt436. Bought tractor with issues. Won’t fire without ether, puts out tons of white smoke when I turn it over. It will stay on and run but sounds like it has a fuel knock and pours out white smoke. Running it in the shop with the overhead door open will just about burn your eyes out. I’m wondering if the pump is off 180 degrees. Thx
  4. So adding a Facet fuel pump to my KT-17 in my 782. Had enough of the standard old manual fuel pump. But need some help hooking it up! Instructions say I need a relay between the key switch and 3 amp fuse before the fuel pump. Never used a relay before so don't know how to hook it up right? Have a five pin key switch with the following letters on the pins - A, S, G, M, and last one is blank. Have a 5 pin relay with following numbers on the pins - 30, 85, 86, 87, and 87a. Has black, red, yellow, white, blue wires. Black one is smaller gauge than the rest if it matters? Got the 3 amp fuse and holder the instructions call for as well. So mount the pump on 45' angle like the instructions suggest, black wire grounds pump and then red runs to fuse holder, then fuse to which wire on the relay?
  5. Folks, I am brand spanking new to the Red Power world, though Dad raised me up on an F12 that I could never crank start. That’s another story though. I just acquired a 52 Super C and need to ask for advice on several issues. 1. Fuel. I’ve read that ethanol laced, non-leaded gasoline can be harmful. Are there additives that ought to be added to today’s gasoline to reduce this problem? 2. In a similar vein, what type of motor oil would you folks recommend? 3. Similar question as to hydraulic fluid? Thinking out loud: I am going to rebuild the carburetor. I do not know the type since the carburetor appears to have been painted over by a previous owner. First step would be to disassemble the unit and clean it up. Then give it a try. If the tractor likes this, stop and go no further. Otherwise, rebuild the current carburetor with a good kit. Are there any suggestions as to which kit to use? (Dad used kerosene as a cleaning fluid. What do you folks use in today’s world?) If this fails, replace the carburetor. Again, recommendations as to which kit? Lots of questions on my part. However, any suggestions or recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
