  1. A customer of mine has a Kohler generator with a John Deere 4 cylinder diesel engine. It has a water pump leaking badly. I’ve been talking to a repair shop more up on Deere about a replacement water pump and he says John Deere told him it can have 5 possible water pumps. He asked for a casting number off the pump, so I took the shielding off around the fan and the alternator off and it’s very difficult to read anything without taking the pump off itself. I have some pictures of the engine ID tags. Would anyone have an idea what it would need? He doesn’t really want it taken apart without the part to get it going in case of power outage but I really don’t know what else to do. The pictures of the numbers on the water pump are difficult to read. Sometimes I just need to say no thanks.
