  1. Thought to start a new thread about single cylindered powered tractors after all lots of makes made them in the past from IHC, Case and etc. going to include steam tractors here too
  2. Okay so I have a 686 d312 gear drive. Well I bought a reman starter for it well it just grinds I took the drive off the old starter and swapped it still just grinds. They are both 10 teeth. I’ve checked ring gear it’s fine. I know that the 666 are mostly the same tractor as the 686 but my research shows they use a 12 teeth starter. My question is why is it just grinding, should I buy a 12 teeth starter like a 666. I wonder if the guy before me had the same problems and didn’t count the teeth and stuck a 10 on it. Just need to get this figured out. I’ve never seen it work. I can say that every once an again it’ll catch and start to crank but then just grinds. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sawyer
  3. Is there a way to check the pump pressure on my 1486? I have an engine knock that appears to be fuel related. I have replace the injectors and blown out the return line and still have a knock. Engine will only start with starting fluid. I have already check to make sure timing is correct on pump and flywheel
  4. There is a guy down the road a piece from us that is trying to sell a T-9 with a 10 foot blade. He says it is a Diesel but from what I have been able to find the T-9 was only gas. His Father-in-law stuck both engines many years ago. I don't have pictures but I am going to see it this afternoon. He said he would sell it for scrap. I don't know exactly what scrap is but operating weight is 10,700 Lbs. I haven't looked into parts for a rebuild but I am sure it won't be cheap. Were there any general problems that they had? Are there any special problems I should look for with the UC? Thanks.
