  1. On mine, you move the lever forward for 4WD & pull it back for 2WD. The push forward is accomplished with little resistance, however, the pull back takes a bit of muscle power.
  2. I expect by comparing the parts diagrams you could define or get a good feel for the differences. I have the ZF & just ordered a part for it off the parts diagram: http://www.messicks.com/cas/60177
  3. It's mainly used to haul a hay wagon in & out of a feedlot in the winter & some hay raking in spring (~50A), some disking in summer (<15A). It has a 2250 loader. Thanks for the input. I'm thinking if the caps on the correct part do not move when pressed in place that should mean I'm good to go
  4. Back in 2014 I had one of the universals replace in the front axle of a ZF front end (seems the clip failed/fell out). Recently while greasing it (difficult due to orientation), I noticed that all 4 caps would rock/move inside the yoke holes. The shop thinks they got the part from an IH parts supplier (Messicks) but the prices don't match so I pretty sure it's not the correct universal. I will order the correct one & get it installed. My question is what is likelihood that the yoke holes will be wallowed & if so how much is OK? Secondly, if not OK what can be done short of replacing the 2 axle pieces (prob not even available new)? Thanks in advance for any inputs or comments.

  6. There is an aftermarket device that integrates into the reg brake system (hyd) that will lock the brakes when you flip a switch/lever that closes a valve that then keeps pressure on the brakes when you remove your foot. I think it releases when you again apply pressure to the brakes (ie a bit more that initially thus freeing the valve). I considered this option for my 784, maybe others have more knowledge on the subject.
