How where Deere hydraulics superior? I just don't understand. I grew up on an 856, worked for the neighbors run their 4020's, the hydraulics where awefull to run, what was I missing?

I believe the 5088 and up are now referred to as the "Midrange" combines, but certainly are descendants of the "Heritage" machines. One big change is the heads no longer interchange between the two generations.

This is simply combining a couple of documents and the notes I've taken into one comprehensive document, hopefully everything is accurate.
I finally pulled the trigger on a beautiful 2005, 2388 myself, this information helped me make the decision!
