I'd clean the carb good and do the initial governor adjustment......see if it smooths out. No idle response to adjustment has me thinking try a good cleaning.

    1) if idle mixture screw isn't doing anything.......carb needs cleaned. 2) back out idle screw 1.5 turns from seated and start there. 3) I it won't pick up well off idle your idle is too lean, or your main needle air ports are plugged (assuming Kohler carb, if Walbro, doesn't apply) You also have to be careful about using the right carb to air horn gasket. Some carbs need to suck air through the gasket (hole in gasket) and some have an opening in the casting. If you block the hole with a solid gasket it will not transition to high idle at all. I don't like the Walbros for throttle response or tuning for that matter......I put Kohler carbs on all my KT/Mag twins. Could still have a fouled plug.

Also, readjust the governor base setting, make sure its not surging on you because of that.

I always get them running decent, then warm them up at 1/2 throttle for about 10 min, then put a final tune on the high screw, idle screw, recheck high, and then check for good pick up off idle. Main jet seems to like to be about 1 full turn out past where it starts to lean out and stumble. It can be hard to hear the rich side stumble on some 18/20 Mags.

Deck pulleys were bigger on cyclops decks. Rather than change the clutch on my 782, I put a smaller 50C pulley on the 54" deck.....back up to speed and a mowing mo'chine!

50VAC is way high......they usually test around 29-30VAC in my experience

Front to back and wiggle.....they can sometimes suck.
  8. You definitely know it's there. If you have a need for the height it will get things up there! Sharp looking rig BTW!!!!

There are 2 notches in the motor mount plate to clear the QA bolts......takes some wiggling and about 2" of forward travel if I recall correctly.
  10. Those 24 series loaders just look Sooooo HUGE. How is the visibility with all of that steel up high like that?
  11. 2350/2450 IH Mount-O-Matic. Plenty of lift capacity for all of those tasks. Mount-O matic are all quick attach. Yes rear remotes.
  12. John Deere is a marketing and advertising God!!! They know how to make people pay for green paint......and always have. Brand association alone is huge......every small town kid has a JD hat......
  13. Jumper a wire from middle pin on reg straight to battery positive terminal......cuts out the middle man (switch/harness/wiring/etc.)....then check for charge voltage. Don't leave it like this, but test it like this....
  14. ......but my fat a$$ can't jump either......so my stuff stays stock. 4x4 F150 is just right from the factory for what I use it for.
  15. Only good snake is the one at the end of the barrel of a 12 gauge....... Hate the evil devil serpents........and they are all cobras to me!!!!!
  16. Check for 28-29 volts AC across the 2 outside terminals of the rectifier at WOT. Then check for 14- 14.5 volts DC center rectifier pin to ground. 28-29 VAC indicates good stator performance. 14-14.5 VDC indicates correct charging. If you get good stator and bad charging, replace voltage regulator. Fairly common failure.
  17. GT54 is NOT drive over....it also takes a jack on std GTs pre 1864. The Haban 60 shown is a drive over, but it works best with the gauge wheels off to drive over it. I use a jack under the front sub frame and lift it WAY UP then slide it under.......its a brute of a deck. Seems like the drive over concept is also best for FWA tractors......getting it started over the deck on anything but dirt/grass is an exercise in sliding. Kinda like seating or "popping loose" a 2250 IH loader on concrete.......it works better with a lip or ledge to push against
