Gamma Goat not procured yet when I served ... But one was demoed at a Tractor Pull in Sauk City in mid 70's. I don't remember it's performance on the Hook...other than spinning the wheels.

Ever since I rode with Grandpa Otto on his SC Case pulling 2-16's , I love plowing! He didn't let me plow with the SC, but some time later I got my first solo drive on his Super C Farmall pulling the spike tooth Drag /Harrow over a manure covered alfalfa field. During H.S. worked on a Dairy & plowed with Farmall 300 w/McCormick 311 3-14's. When first married, we rented wifes uncles home just off farm. I helped field work, etc. Plowed with his 966 with semi mount auto 7?0 4 -16's. A rented 966 Hydro w/ 4-16's , when getting behind fall plowing. Next year got 1466 with semi mount 5-16's Auto. Finally got a Super C & 2-14's FH plow a number of years ago , that I can load up on short notice go play/Plow in someones field. Whether in Roanoke,IL with my 882D or 1811 CC with Brinly 1-10 bottom plow, or Omro,WI, or Arkansaw, WI(3) or Delafield, WI (3)or Boscobel, WI (2)or Reedsburg, WI(5) or Harper's Ferry , Iowa or Rockford, Iowa... I love plowing!

High school I attended had a Farmall A with Mott Flail (60")? & Ford 2110 low boy with 84" Mott for mowing lawn both worked fine for lawn mowing. When I got disiplined to work crew I got to mow or plow snow. I drove tractor with a smile! For hwy. dept. I mowed with four different tractor with flail mowers. First was Ford 4100 with 84" Mott flail.....1973 Second was Ford 6610 with Mott Interstater 18' triple deck...1985 Third was JD 2555 ? with Mott Interstater 18'.....? Fourth was a Ford 6640? with Tiger Triple deck flail 18'....I demoed for a day....1994 I'd get HD Flail blades that are mounted with small clevis & pin... In heavy/thick growth you will need to go slower than a rotary deck to do a clean job with flail or double passes. http://alamo-group.com

I delivered a Gold Demo F1026 w/cab to a dairy farmer . He put so many hours on it that he decided to keep it. I got the impression he was leasing the 1026 . I did haul it back to our shop, but don't remember if it got repainted red...maybe that happened during the time Uncle Sam /Nixon called me up for service.

Identification of a large frame diesel Cadet And hydro driveshaft help.
Rainman replied to gonzo1066's topic in Cub Cadets
I put one of those clutches on my 1811 in the 1990's for easier winter starts. It came as a kit from Cub Cadet. By the time I gifted the 1811 to number two son , clutch was shot . So he replaced it with a regular drive line. -
Nice, Todd!

Our county Hwy. Dept. had a number of Walters. Got to ride shotgun on the wing one winter day filling in and watching snow fly. By the way early Walters were "Chain Driven" & without synchros.. Our shop had Old Number 887 with right hand wing, one way & V plows, And switched out rear duals for singles to take advantage of Full time 4 wheel drive. One time a grader (Austin Western Pacer 300 4x4) got stuck in a soft spot near a barn yard run off on County K west of US 12, I got the call to get old #887 and help get P. Keller get out of his predicament. I loaded Old #887 with a couple buckets of sand for weight . On the first try pulling the right rear pull hook got straightened out without breaking. On the second try pulling, old 887's hitch held and the grader survived for another day providing Dane county roads maintenance. Old 887 had a Cat Diesel and steel floor in the hugh cab.
