  1. We had two new ones. This 10 and the black stripe 14 I still have. Good memories!
  2. Dubuque County IA Fairgrouds to the tri State Farm stock shoot out. 13000 lbs. Finished 12 out of 31 very good running tractors. I ended up at 296.44’. If I could have squeaked out another 2.6 ft I would have finished 5th. 2.5 feet less and I would have been 16th. Winner went 304’. Heck of a good set of tractors. They paid out $2k to the top 16 places.
  3. I took a minute after coming in from mowing the yard and dug out the warranty card for dads 1066. I have no idea where it is. He traded it in 85 or 85 for the black stripe 1566 we still have. That was at Westbay Equipment in Galesburg IL. Looking at the card the tractor serial would have been 15002 right. Is the other one the engine serial? Anyway, I was just thinking and thought maybe I should try to see if it is still out there somewhere! On a side note I noticed that we have owned that 1566 all these years and not put 1000 hours on it.
  4. I have played around pulling antiques and stock farm tractors my whole life. Then I put this together a few years ago. When I made that first pass at 20 mph dragging the sled behind me I felt like I was on the nose of a rocket. Dang did it feel good and it still does every single time!
  5. He went 294’ and a few inches. Winner went 301‘. Usually you are looking to go around 300 ft. Yes the sled always wins.
  6. We took Smoke Rings and ran up to the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds at Davenport for a ECITPA pull. A real photographer was there and caught some nice pics. Had a great night. Snuck into 5th place in a tough sanctioned class.
  7. Gonna spend some time tomorrow cleaning this girl up. Hasn’t been used much for a decade and it’s hard to believe how much it’s deteriorating just sitting in the shed. 4100 hours. Runs and drive like a new one. Charged the air and it worked great. New flor mat and I should get a new dash cover. One thing at a time!
  8. I have it somewhere but I cant find it right now. S 3726 was about modifying the rear pump mounting flange for a different oring. Thanks Eri
  9. Neighbor and I were talking balers one day. He started out with a early Vermeer and I started with a 510 deere. He said “everyone ought to learn to bale on one of those belt twisting sob’s!” I did bale over a 100 bales in a day one time with that old 510. Had it on my 1086. Was a long day.
  10. It is high 3rd. Stock gears. Electric t/a, Start in t/a and shift into direct. That young man is a friend and he made a pass of about 280 if I can remember but it took like 330 to be out front. Some 30 mph, cut tire, roll cage tractors in the class. We were there to make a couple passes. Test and tune. We have been tuning so we would make a much better pass this time but not going to catch those 30mph guys!
  11. Or have a pull coming up? Only been to one pull this year and had to drive 3 hours to it. Lots of people and tractors! Had a blast. Noting here close till July 11. Would like to find a couple hooks next weekend. Anyone got something coming up?
  12. I have always done it by hand. The cast is soft. Apply some pressure and it goes pretty easy really. Done a few of them.
  13. No plain and simple answer. Here, in the land of tough stemmed, roping, green soybeans where we don’t see a frost until November. No it won’t.
  14. Sitting here watching a episode of Gunsmoke! Love it. The early half hour ones are much grittier than the later ones.
  15. The 88 series IH tractors, in my opinion, are the best looking tractors anyone has ever built. Of course open station black stripes are right there!
  16. Been mowing a little waiting for it to dry out enough to get back to planting!
  17. If you take time to aim the side lights they are decent. The leds in the nose make a huge difference!
  18. Looking at the pic that tractor is going to measure 102-104” at its widest point.
  19. 3lm is a direct bolt on. s300 will require some mods.
