  1. Has anybody added auxiliary hydraulics on a Dresser TD7E? I have a chisel plow with two actuators on it that I would like to pull with our dozer. I know I need a diverter valve and a two spool directional control valve on it. I would use the tilt cylinder hydraulics for the pressure/flow source. If anybody has done this, I'd like to hear about any challenges or difficulties you had making this modification. Jerry
  2. here's what's on my late 1980's TD7E The filter assembly was a Lenz DHA1000-60R with the 5062-60 SS screen. I believe my line fittings were 1"NPT but Lenz has different fittings available. If you can't find a OEM replacement, you might be able to find a Lenz replacement. It's only a suction screen and i believe they make them with several different porosities. ttps://duckduckgo.com/?ia=web&origin=funnel_home_website&t=hundefined&q=Lenz+DHA1000-60R+with+the+5062-60+SS+screen.+
  3. "...less than 50psi....." Minimum compression pressure should be > 350 psig. Did you put oil in the cylinders and re-check the compression? If the compression comes up it's most likely rings. If it doesn't, could be valve adjustment, bent push rods, burned valve, burned piston crown, etc. Do your compression checks with a clean airfilter or no air filter.
  4. Is this the suction filter for the transmission? Did it have a screen in it? Lenz makes these types of filters and that's what I have on my TD7E.
  5. I found a ball valve on Amazon as well as a pipe thread elbow. I will remove the Vibra-log tube nut and replace it with a FNPT nut and sleeve and see how that works. I also found a used valve at Norcan in Spokane so if this doesn't work, I have a back up. Thanks for your input
  6. What kind of oil? engine or transmission?
  7. Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that but I have about stripped the gland nut and I can't get it to turn.
  8. The fuel shut off valve on our TD7E (part number 650 443 C92) is leaking from the stem. I got some packing material to re-pack the stem but i cant open the gland to replace it. I have a small ball valve and a 90 degree elbow with MNPT threads that I thought I could make work. However when I removed the valve, I found the fuel tube connection is some sort of morphodite straight thread and the tube itself has some sort of crimp on it. So I need to find a replacement fuel shutoff valve or an adapter that will go between the MNPT elbow and the existing fuel supply tube and nut Can anyone point me to where i might get a replacement fuel shut off valve or an adapter?
  9. HAVE YOU CHECKED THE CLUTCH PRESSURES ON THE DASH? If they are low, remove the filter housing and rinse the screen in diesel and clean the trash out of the filter housing. They is a way to check the various transmission pressures in the shop manual. That would be the next step if the screen cleaning and high pressure filter change don't fix the problem.
  10. Have you checked the suction screen on the transmission? Do you have a manual? It has the test methods to check the transmission
  11. A compression check narrow down the problem since you have eliminated the other possibilities. Worn or stuck rings, burned or misadjusted valves, or burned piston crown are all that's left
  12. For a non start situation you need to make sure that the injectors are getting fuel and you have good airflow into the cylinders and you have compression. Replacing parts should only occur after you have narrowed the problem to a specific cause. Pull the air filter off. Pull an injector and make sure that you getting a fine spray of fuel when you crank the engine over. Run a compression check. Low compression means either worn/stuck rings, burned piston, or leaking valves. You complicated the situation by pulling the injection pump and then questioning whether the timing is correct. Now you have to make sure you didn't change the timing.

  14. Binderdan, Thanks for the drawing. They have everything dimensioned but the master pin diameter! I tried scaling it and I come up with the master pin diameter of 0.99 inches. Sounds kind of big to me. Where did you get the drawing? Thanks again for the info. Jerry
