  1. So ive never had any problems with the power steering, now I've developed a leak ive tried to seal 3 times at the bottom left port of the valve that leads to the front port on the power steering cylinder. stuck valve? something else? anyone have any ideas? im at a loss
  2. its almost like they grafted on the back half of the cargostar...
  3. heres some pictures from today, I have the pedal to bellcrank rod disconnected for a AC condenser install
  4. yeah they were pretty crusty and I thought they were just hold down pins.. nope! lol all adjusted and good
  5. ill take a real pic here soon when i get out there but this is a drawing, I see nowhere that's adjustable each shoe pivots on the opposing wheel cylinder
  6. there's no adjusters just two wheel cylinders on either side
  7. I just got done replacing front wheel cylinders and tried to get the brake drum back on, once it hits half way right on the shoes it wedges tight, other than bashing them back on, what else can I do? I would normally just back an adjuster out but it doesn't have any! what is going on with this?
  8. I didn't I just rattled it till it dragged.. ill be keepin an eye on em.
  9. yeah its weird just because of the throttle override pull. I'll snap some pictures tomorrow while I'm Hopefully finishing the brakes on mine. (72 gas 2 barrel 345)
  10. thanks guys!! I did find something on the internet that said torque the inner nut to like 300 lbs-ft which would be the crank and feel the drag, (sets the bearings) since I don't have a torque wrench that goes that high, the noticeable drag is what I'm aiming for then back off tighten to no play then a little more if the lock ring doesn't sit right, then torque the bajesus out of the outer nut.. so thats all in line with what y'all are saying.. thanks for clarifying
  11. what is the correct procedure for adjusting the rear wheel bearings? the nuts were pretty tight, is there any torque rating for preload? or just the regular tighten it until the slop is gone, tighten down the 2nd nut and then the third with the keeper on the 2nd nut?
  12. looks like the holley, the delco has a giant round rotor and female caps, with the twisty lockdowns, and the prestolite has male terminals.. also the holley has snap holders. same one i have on my 345 72 cargostar, well almost, mine had points.
  13. well after doing some measuring and some thumbing thru the parts book, I got the right wheel cylinders, ordered the wrong wheel seals, now I have the right ones, good to go! can someone point me to the correct way to install and adjust, lock in the bearings on a IH made axle? still have trauma from the last time (20 years ago) I did work on a dana60 did it wrong, and the wheel and axle came out snapping the end of the axle tube. horrid history lesson over I'd like to do it right this time lol
  14. Well the book came in I have like 15 choices lol thankfully all are either identifiable by drum size or by wheel cylinder bore size. while the hubs are off, I think I'm going to paint them blue to match the rest of the truck.
  15. I decided to buy one on ebay, $100 I'm just hoping the numbers will cross to parts i can still buy...
