The first truck Had blown head gaskets and by the time I had called the last two they were sold. Ended up finding that brown one on my aunts Facebook and drove it and bought it and was headed home 9 hours after landing in pheniox

I just went to Arizona last year and got a 2006 ford F350 6.0 crew cab long box lariat for 10k and it already had all the major problems fixed including new heads with receipts. I couldn’t find a rust free cab for my other 06 for less then 5k. I’d do it again in a heart beat. Made it 2500 miles home in 35 hours straight with me and dad driving in shifts. I had 250 in plane tickets and 500 in fuel.

Mr. Fred was awesome enough to teach me about TAs last summer after the 1066 we got out of the fence row quit moving in high and low. Weve had a few replaced on our farm but gramps loves to shift it really slow at the worst times haha

Ended up in a bar with my aunt and dad eating lunch and she found me one on Facebook that was exactly what I wanted. 2006 crew cab long box 6.0 lariat with floor shift 4x4. Went and bought it on the spot and drove it 35 hours straight home with me and dad taking shifts. Only issue I’ve had to far is I had to get the title bonded when I tried to transfer it. Other then that I’ve changed all the sensors and tuned it and has been a great pickup. Has 221000 on the clock but if it explodes it’s 12k for a long block with better internals or 3,800 for a inframe kit. Take your time and do some looking there is some deals to be had. I only paid 10500 for this truck and I couldn’t find a cab to fix my other 2006 for less then 5000

Grandpas 1975 1066 with short axle shafts was the big horse for years pulling 5/18s on land and it has 4 bolt clamps and he says only thing to happen was 2 broken bolts. The 1972 1066 we picked up last year has long axles with wedge locks and diff lock. I’d almost bet all long axled 1066 had wedge locks atleast around here for beets

Are you talking about the 3 balls in there? If so they are 7/8” I believe I’ll double check in the book but McMaster Carr is where dad has sourced some before

I’d just rent or borrow a dozer. The 806 will probably do it but the roots and stumps could ruin a tire or a snap a spindle. Seen both happen on our 966. Not to mention the pounding the front end will take even with using caution

When I was shopping for an excavator the neighbor had a koehring he wanted to sell me. I had never been around one so I researched and I didn’t end up buying it because of the air over hydralics and parts availability but they built some amazing machines. The excavators alone they built are so huge and fast that companies still to this day can’t make something that large and that fast and hold up
