  1. Hi! I am installing the piston to gear pump conversion kit on my 3388. I am trying to install the new pump suction tube into the gear pump. However I am having difficulty removing the filter cartridge retainer to gain access to the tube from the filter housing side. Any advice? I’m trying to not tear up anything more than I have! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  3. So I found my problem. The large gear that drives the pump has sheared the shaft going into the pump. So now the question. Do I buy a reman piston pump or do I buy a gear pump conversion. I do not use anything with a hydraulic motor.
  4. Hi all I have a question regarding the pfc pump on a 3388. The tractor has been running great until last night. Was bush hogging and went to raise the wings to go through a gate. Wings raised half way then dropped back down. Also cannot raise the three point arms, but I can pull them up by hand then they fall down. I changed all filters still nothing. I just pulled the pfc pump from the tractor this morning. All of the splines and gear look fine and the large gear turns easily by hand. So first question when I split the pump from compensator block what am I looking for to be wrong? Second I have seen conversion kits to go to a gear style pump. Would this be a good move for me? Thanks in advance for your knowledge and help!!
  5. I have used fr8star to haul 3 tractors for me. As long as you can be somewhat flexible on day to pick up and deliver they worked well. After you get the broad range of prices to haul, click for a specific quote, and you will have 5 or 6 solid bids to haul your tractor in a day. You can then choose which one you want. In terms of weight and size I have found them to be much more particular on actual dimension and not so much on weight. Also they are insured for the cargo. Always a big plus! Good luck!
  6. Hi all. First thanks for letting me be part of this group. I have been reading a lot of the threads the past month. I recently bought a 1486 and I believe the rpm transducer is bad. I read through another post that talked about testing them with ohms, voltage output when the tractor is running, adjusting the depth and have completed those with no fix to the problem. Question. There are two wires going into the transducer. Should either of those wires have 12 volt power to it? Or are both wires an output for the transducer. Thanks!
