    660 oil cooler

I need to replace the oil cooler on my 660, is it safe to remove the side frame rail without supporting the engine in some way?
  2. So what did it turn out to be?

    1486 T/A

Sorry, yes we have tried adjusting the dump valve. And I'm wondering why the clutch triggers the problems so that when I have it apart I won't be miss anything.

    1486 T/A

When the T/A is in high range, once the hydraulic oil is good and warm, when you press and release the clutch it will not move and the red hydraulic pressure light stays on, however, it would continue to work all day if you were to never push the clutch in, everything seems to work perfectly normal when the hydraulic oil is still cool, When the T/A is in low range it won't move at all anymore. I'm assuming everyone will tell me the T/A is shot and needs to be replaced, but before I do that I'm just wondering why it starts acting up only when I push the clutch in? The mcv pump is new. Back when these problems started you could pull the T/A back into low range and get it moving and then push it ahead into high and it would keep moving, if you were to park it facing down hill and get it rolling when you shift it into gear it will keep going.
  5. And red hydraulic pressure light on the dash is on the whole time or blinks on and off? Start by changing the filter, if that doesn't do anything there will be a spot on the mcv plate to screw in a pressure gauge, see what the mcv pump is putting out.
  6. After using my 1256 for a few hours and the hydraulic oil is good and warm, it will not move at idle and the red hydraulic light stays on until you throttle it up to around 1400rpms, now recently it stops moving Every time I steer the wheels. Is it most likely the Mcv pump? I have not done a pressure check on it yet. The hydraulic filter was changed in the summer.
  7. Will the tractor move at all? Or does it just sit there when you put it in gear with the red hydraulic pressure light on?

    660 hydraulics

Does anyone know if the hydraulic remote vales for a 560 are the same for a 660?
  9. Last fall while swathing with the 1256, the remote hydraulics all of the sudden started to get slow and in under an hour until it wouldnt even lift the table anymore. Where should I start? Is it likely the pump? Changing the filter did nothing.
  10. When I start my 1486 when it's cold in the winter, the red hydraulic light on the dash stays on and the tractor won't move or steer for usually about 20 minutes. In the summer (or anytime of year) if it is parked even slightly up hill, when I start it up the hydraulic light stays on and it won't steer but it will move. But in the last week or so with pulling the air seeder, after it is warmed up, every time i press the clutch in and let it out the light stays on and it won't move, (the steering, remotes and PTO still work) but when I pull the TA back the light goes out and it moves, then when i push the TA back ahead it hesiatates and then jumps forward and makes an alarming bang. Changing the oil filter did not help anything. (It doesn't give this problem when the hydraulic oil is cold) This tractor has just over 10,000 hours on It but the clutch was replaced around 500 hours ago. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
