  1. I realized that after the fact... kinda got on a roll checking for excessive wear. Plan is to possibly pull the PTO this weekend and get the shaft out. Was going to see if it had a typical O-ring or the quad ring style, but I'll just go ahead with the quad ring after seeing your comment on them. 👍
  2. Surprisingly, I've got the lift arms off as well as the #7 that fought you. Let's just say the rear has been well lubricated and is thoroughly rust-resistant. I was able to find all the timing marks but hit it all with a paint pen just because.
  3. Thank you sir. I had COMPLETELY overlooked it. 🤦‍♂️
  4. Can you find and read the model and serial number tag? There's a chance I can find the parts manual.
  5. I found some old threads on this, but they're archived and can't add replies so off to a new thread we go. 1486 with seals leaking almost as fast as I can pour oil in. On the hunt for the parts including the seals, bushings, and retainers proactively. Where is everyone buying their parts? I usually go to Messick's web site to look at the parts diagram and determine accurate part numbers but didn't see a diagram for this area. Does anyone have these part numbers? @Sparky any chance you know the number of the speedy sleeve? Knowing the history of this tractor... I'm just going to assume it's all plum worn out. As always, I appreciate yall's help!
  6. My goal was something like this with modern blade style fuses. I've thought about using a marine style fuse panel similar to this:
  7. Trying to get some work done on my personal Farmall C... carb rebuild, rework the air intake, governor repair and maybe attempt to paint the tinwork when it warms up a bit more. Need to paint my '00 F250 and my wife's '01 Excursion, but I've never really done any body work and the Farmall is a much cheaper guinea pig to find out if I'm absolutely terrible at it. Neighbor dropped off his Long 310 for have the injection pump resealed. Interesting little 2 cylinder tractor with a Mefin pump.
  8. Getting a little design work done during my lunches. Thinking 8' center with 6' wings. I'll have a hydraulic cylinder to take care of he lifting duties of the main frame and wings. I'll use a HD turnbuckle to adjust the hitch.
  9. Anyone build their own version of a Harrowgator? I'd like about 20' working width, but want it to fold and ride within 102" on a trailer... a combo I'm not really seeing readily available. Most of what I'm seeing is a 10' main with 5' wings. I could make the wings manual or hydraulic and would like to adjust the pitch hydraulically or with top link style turnbuckle. Just curious if anyone has taken the time to build their own and if there's anything they wish they had done differently.
  10. Pic of the baby boy with our other hooligan. Brantleigh is our rescue pup lab mix; she looks like a lab, but super short. Pic from May 2021 about a week or 2 after we got Oakley.
  11. one of our pups; blue heeler about 11 months in this pic from Feb of this year.
  12. honestly... spray the heck out of it with the Dawn Powerwash stuff and let it soak. You might be surprised how well it works. Light brush for the stubborn stuff.
  13. i've turned curved stacks to the rear to slide under light tree limbs and branches (hay and rotary cutter tractors)... not saying its' right or wrong, but it works. lol
  14. Anyone keeping a list of the 1486? or 86s in general?
