  1. Thank you all ! Waiting for a little warmer weather, I’ll get serious with it then.
  2. I haven’t cranked it. The paint has been burned off the injection pump which makes me believe it’s had some kind of damage. Again I bought the tractor for parts but just going through the motions to see. what it would take to get it running again. I have another 656d that needs a motor, the burn tractor would be the donor or parts off my runner onto the burned tractor. Just trying to make up my mind.
  3. Here is the rest of the story. Bought this over the phone cheep. The seller said the 3pt, TA, clutch and motor was good. I’m on the fence about un bolting the front end and sticking it on mine. BUT the fire I’m sure, cooked the steering orbit, steering pilot valve, wirring and flow divider valve. Seriously thinking about replacing those parts for a good runner. I’m just not sure if the injection pump made it through the fire ok. I’m a ASE master gas mechanic but never done a diesel injection pump. Not afraid of it but I don’t know what I don’t know. thank you for your input. OH! When I was changing over from mower to blade on my 1st tractor engine running I kid you not this guy walked within 100 ft of me.
  4. Has anyone reseal/rebuilt a stanadyne injection pump. Picked up a 656d for the engine. It have gone through a fire starting at the voltage regulator (gen system). Easy to do?
  5. That’s a nice looking build, everything looks in proportion. It would be interesting to know if has a Donner chassis or ground up build. One crazy build I followed was a Bombadier SW48. He stuffed a built big block in it. Very nice job, way over powered.
  6. You scored! Parts should be no problem. Most owners will buy used belting, set up jigs to drill holes. Big cost for the low budget guys are the grousers, If all of them need replacing. But that’s rare. I hope you take advantage of that snocat forum unless you have already. Enjoy! Jess
  7. So why not a ford 300 EFI 6 with a C4
  8. Oops sorry Lorenzo posted the picture of a OC_4
  9. I have a Thiokol 1404, and yes these have a light tubing frame. I myself won’t install a blade on it. R Pope on one of your previous posts showed an OC_4 which had it’s issues. Pictures from a distance, 1404 and 1450 look the same.
  10. Check out this forum, very cool site and has everything from antique cat restoration to some of more modern cats. http://www.forumsforums.com/3_9/forumdisplay.php?f=66&order=desc&page=2 i beleave its a Thiokol 1450. Which it would have a ford inline 6 with a c4 auto trans. Also would have an OC12 trans axel in it. Looks like it’s all there. This is a desirable cat to own for a low budget being the biggest dollers spent on tracks and trans axel. BTW the OC12 was also in the Oliver OC-12 crawler. If your buddy what’s to sell it he can make some decent money posting on this snocat forum.
