  1. I wouldn’t use the test harness. I would at least get a new sentry from Triple R Tractor. The last time I had a no light no shift scenario replacing the 2 relays in the sentry box fixed it. Make sure your batteries are up to snuff.
  2. The alternator went out of my 5288 Wednesday while finishing up planting soybeans. No big deal. I put the new alternator on with 2 new batteries. Starts right up. And charges. But I’ve got no radio or fan. Cab solenoid. Run up to the shop and get some things. Come back and everything works! Weird. But I didn’t have any odd gears then. Sentry light was on. So I finished up in an even gear. Took it up to the shop and I was going to switch around the relays on the sentry box to see if the problem follows the relay. Blow a fuse. Wouldn’t move in any gear, the sentry light wouldn’t even come on. Installed two new relays and it all functions like it should. Sure hope I don’t have problems down the road.
  3. Trying to finish drilling soybeans last night. Before my alternator went out
  4. Did you replace the screws that hold it on? Those have a little gasket on them. part number 375612R91. I’ve seen the old hardware used with a new gasket and the screws are the culprit
  5. Great set of wrenches. I wish SK still made their tools in the USA. Great find!!
  6. No longer available through CIH. Although there were some still left in the warehouses last summer. I haven’t checked since. It would be an excellent decal to have reproduced.
  7. I put the fourth one in for my dad. He thought it had helped. Me personally, if your tall (which I am) I liked just three better.
  8. Those are the K&M steps that I painted black
  9. It’s got the rotary Ambac 100. thank you all for the kind words and comments!
  10. Thank you! I painted it probably 20 years ago. It had nice paint but had three different shades of red. I couldn’t stand it it has JUST over 3,000 hours
  11. I pull a 20ft Great Plains drill with it, and pull wagons in the fall. Those lights don’t do a whole lot. They came with the tractor when we bought in new in 84. But they’re better than nothing
  12. Got the 5288 cleaned up and serviced yesterday. She cleans up good I would say.
  13. The IH Dana axle will not be a direct bolt in interchange. And you’ll need a lot of internal components to make the Dana axle even work. Your quickest cheapest option is to find a 2wd axle and bolster.
  14. I took that check ball completely out of the pump and put in a 90 degree fitting with a hose to move it. So that pump completely had that particular fitting removed in the picture. I just wanted to get the tractor moved out of the way. I’ll look into the return at the bottom of the tank
  15. I rigged this up just to get it moved. It ran and didn’t die. It ran rough. But it’s moved
  16. I had a pick in there and used plenty of air. But I didn’t take it out. How does that check valve come apart? I saw the little glass ball. And it was springing back.
  17. I’ve got a Farmall 1206. Starts good. But it’ll only run for a few seconds then die. I blew air back into the tank just in case there was a restriction. Have good flow coming from the tank. I changed the fuel filters, and new fuel. I took the T fitting off at the injection pump for the return lines and cleaned that little check valve out. There was minimal debris in there. Injection pump issue?
  18. The one I’ve seen is the IH 1600 combine with a rigid grain table I THINK harvesting rice. Dumping into a grain truck. It’s one of those small pictures where if you blink, you’ll miss it
  19. There are actually pictures of one in one of the early CIH buyers guides. An un doctored one slipped through. I’ll have to see if I can find it.
  20. I’ve had good luck with BKT tires for front 2wd applications.
  21. Case IH dealers still carry it. It comes in ONLY quarts now. 44927267 is the part number
  22. On my 986 I didn’t have to modify anything. The cables all reached. And they fit in the battery box and was still able to get the front cover back on. When my 5288 needs batteries they will get the same treatment.
  23. I work at a dealer. The old Iron Gard paint was made by Valspar. The New paint comes from Diamond Vogel.
  24. Needing a new muffler eliminator for my 5288. I’m seeing them multiple places online. Are they about the same in quality? I’ve installed a few years ago and the fitment was terrible. I wasn’t sure if they were any better now or if they are all coming from the same place.
