I am rebuilding an old 100'x27' pig barn to put tractors and parts in. The 504 has been a huge help in this project! The hour meter has been ticking away! It works well with the loader and the little Triple K cultivator on the back. The Farmall 300 got put on the baler today. The upper level of the barn was full of straw that was put up there 60 years ago. It is getting baled up and moved to a customer that has livestock. 110 bales today forked out of the barn loose and stacked onto the wagon.8 points

My nephew got this one and it was delivered today. I've never seen this style fuel gauge, it's not in working order .... anyone have any information on the brand of it? Like new 15.5-38 Firestone field and roads . Looks like a cushion hitch adapted to the drawbar. I think I have a fast hitch for him . Power steering is one finger factory setup. I'm only slightly jealous 😁6 points

Got done the straight cutting yesterday. Got moved out to my swathed canola this morning and started making some headway on it. Had a spreader drive bearing go out this evening so hot crap down for a bit. Had a good old bearing in the cab so I got it tore apart but my absent mind took the pulley off not thinking. Shaft was flared a bit so I had to clean it up. Didn’t have to the tools with me so I’ll have to finish that job in the morning. It’s all back together otherwise though just need to put the pulley back on. Canola has been yielding pretty good so I’m happy about that. Too soon to know what the swathed stuff will do but I got 55 out of the straight cut stuff. Best over ever done and more then I thought it would do judging by the stand. It was fairly short but bloomed a long time. Hopefully my swathed stuff gets close to 50. It has some poorer spots and that green piece that I haven’t even swathed yet. Taking the swather over tomorrow I think to nock it down. It’s turning now. Not a lot in the pods though unfortunately. Thankfully it’s only 5 or so acres.5 points

Started on the hayfield rejuvenation project today. Yes, that is in fact a 340 utility hooked to a 10' disk; no, it didn't like it. But it pulled it ok in 3rd gear surprisingly. Reached for the ta a few times but reminded myself that the reverser lever wouldn't help me any! The only reason I used the 340 was to try out my new remote I installed this morning, and it seemed to work well. The check valve may be bad, since it won't hold the disk up for very long. This field has been in sod for several decades, and is getting very thin. I'll plow it this fall after the corn is done, then let it set over winter. Then put it into corn or milo for a couple years before going back to hay. Mac5 points

Wife showed me a video of a dog rescuing a fawn from a lake. The dogs owner was telling the story as the video played. They were walking along the shore and the dog went in, owner saw something brown in the water, dog retrieved it and got it to shore. Then proceeded to paw at the fawn in the ribs and poke the fawns head with his nose. A rescue shelter was called and a lady showed up. The fawn came to and scared ran right back into the lake. Dog retrieved it again and then the lady from the shelter carried it out to her vehicle. Talk about leaking eyes!! Great story and video. I don’t have a link, maybe someone that’s on fakebook can find it.3 points

Excellent crop of rocks again this year. I thought harvest wouldn't start for another couple of weeks, but I guess with as dry as it is, harvest is coming early this year. When you are done, drive over to my house and you can help me harvest mine. 🤣3 points

Most lazy bums on welfare that I know came from a family that had a union employer the previous generation. I have only taken 1 government handout and that was the Covid BS. I have a major problem with a union employee who quits loading trucks 2 hours before the publicized deadline because he has a 3 hour drive home? Yeah, I just went 1,000 miles to get here to load. You don’t like me bashing unions but its ok for you to run down the rural people who have to buy all the overpriced stuff union people made. Eliminate them all.2 points

Well I picked a few peas last Monday before we went to the beach. We got back Friday and I picked Saturday morning. There were 6 gallons of pods. Libby shelled the peas while we were watching Alabama football. This is how many peas came out of those 6 gallon of pods. Libby said there were some pinkeye peas mixed in with the zippers. So the seed I got from the local COOP had some pinkeye seeds mixed with the zipper seed. She blanched them so they can be frozen. The result is 6 quarts of peas in the freezer. I will pick again on Wednesday. Libby wants 12 - 14 quarts for the freezer.2 points

The moisture is running a little over 16%. I'm running late. Should be cutting 18-20% moisture to avoid cracking kernels. Rice is eaten as grains so they need to be whole for best quality and price. I'm still ok at 16% but that's getting close. Here's a few threads about rolling rice and incorporating stubble.2 points

😉 Double edged knife Jeff. I would need a pocket spy, I have been told. We up graded to how ever many ggggg's a phone must have last year. My wife said I did not need more than the cheapest of phones. My son went smart phone at that time, and I think like others said have the right app and it works. He can sit here in the house and make phone calls or text. Besides I would have to learn texting. 😵 I don't know if I have enough brain cells left to do that. I started learning to type about 20 years ago and have not really got that down yet.2 points

Do what you got to do to get it done! If it works that's all that's important, not what color it is.2 points

Mostly just moved mine around so the combine and grain truck could get out of the shed. Did have all the diesels running. And the 756. Had three of the pumpkins running yesterday too. Today it's off to the junkyard to look for some combine parts I kind of forgot it needs!2 points

Finished up hay for the year. The old 37 turned out 240 bales this afternoon, only broke 10 and 8 of those were my fault for over feeding. The others were a combination of twine tension and billhook tension. But I'm just happy to be done with hay and getting on to the fun stuff like corn picking and tillage. Mac2 points

G;day Russ ...yeah, it is raining down under...and as such the excavator work has ceased...for a few days and thus I went out the back with one of the 'good' shepherds...to check on the black girls and feed out mineral and salt supplements etc...and the 'men '' rounded up several dozen black girls and herded them up to ""Stockyard face '' an area of several hundred acres, where they will be for awhile.... There are another 100 in another large valley ...plus another hundred or so in yet another area of the 12,000 odd acres of back country ......Come spring and a bit of new growth , the whole mob of around 400 will be together , for calving etc...thus along with 4000 sheep down on the flats , there is a bunch of work for the hounds...On the two Stations here, there are five shepherds , each with seven or more dogs ...ranging from training 'youngun's ' thru to the aged and the infirm..... The dog tucker is mainly ''biscuits '' ,,which comes in ton pallets ......but any animal that has to be destroyed for what ever reason...ends up as dog tucker.... The dogs are kept in dog "motels '....no TV or anything but cold water always there... an elevated 'porch' so that if overnight the hound needs a dump , the resulting mess is hosed out , without getting his sleeping quarters wet ....Most Stations look after their hounds well....and if you noticed on this topic, recently, I posted about our our old Huntaway , which we got from a hill country farm....as she was getting a bit old for the hills ...!! ..picture cattle coming off "Stockyard Face'....(last year...)
