Great day at show spent most of time visiting and not enough looking at tractors but really it’s about the Red Power people ! They are the Best ! the two guys with me in picture are forum members I’ll let you figure one on my left , hint ! has something todo with spark plugs ! They one on right is QC Canada man both are from Canada ! The Farmall C with dry bean cutter is phenomenal would not think it could pull four row cutter , I had one on a 400 Farmall and it was all the 400 could handle till the 806 came out and we put hydraulic cutters on it then flew through field . I shredded many acres of cotton with a shredder like this 400 Farmall 4th gear wide open two rows at a time . Carol and I met forum member “Little feller” took a picture of this Red ih hauler with fuel truck on trailer because the paint job on it imho represented many many hours of block sanding flaw less body work the Blue 57 had a Cummins in it and was phenomenal workman’s ship in my opinion our Group picture at Pete 1468 booth was a success so many guys showed up and I met few more members I was privileged to have a few minutes with Max Armstrong , what a delightful man ! the 806 was early Gasser with a four row cultivator don’t see that combo very often just a little flavor of show through my eyes today tony Sharon Lindsey and Carol. Sharons husband is T-bone on our forum ! Lowell Lindsey .24 points

Great. At that time today I was infatuated with all the vendors….. my mind is blown. Apparently I didn’t use my head to apply hearing a picture was at four and SDman telling me about Pete’s booth. 🙄 anyhow I did see about 98% of the show just to take it in. So it was a good day. Here’s a few pics. Loved meeting some of you and looking forward to the next two days!! Phantom (yea pickup has a name, 1992 GMC 1500) and I got here a little after 11 and got a front row spot. This is the same spreader I have at home. Glad I found one that is fully restored. Here is the first Axial-Flow built12 points

Pictures from the combine plant. Thank you to CNH for allowing us to take pictures inside the Grand Island plant. Sad to hear that the Midrange combine production will end there shortly ....its still more or less based on the original IH 1480 design. Many thanks to Roger Lewno as a speaker relating to his 50+ years of working for IH and CaseIH. Lots of neat stories about red tractor production from him.11 points

Knocked down some horse hay after work. Made a few turns and saw a little wiggle up front... Uh oh ... That looks a bit loose. Found a stray nut in the toolbox. Snugged up the three bolts that were left and kept going. My son brought another bolt to the field so I could finish in the dark without obsessing over if the axle was loose again.5 points

Grandpa's first tractor bought new in Baxter Iowa. I believe it had been at the dealer a year or 2 before being sold. Told the story before but it was bought to speed the replanting of corn after it was frosted off one spring and grandpa didn't think he could get it replanted in time with the horses. Needs a good washing.3 points

My neighbor plants oats in the spring and chops them and replants corn for silage. Today they chopped the oats and he asked if I could come help him disc the oats stubble. I went over with the 5488 and 24' Krause disc, and he tan his 7140 and 24' 496. We were both traveling about identical speed, 6.0 MPH or a little better. We disced about 130 acres in 5 hours. The Coop elevator was there spreading dry fertilizer so it was a busy place. Then when we finished discing someone came in with a 30 foot plus finisher behind an STX something tractor. I came past about 10 tonight and they were still out there with the finisher and planting. Sorry, forgot to get pictures.3 points

I got the carb back on and everything back together enough to run it this afternoon. Switching the lines to the steering cylinder fixed the steering issue. Now I just need to fix the clutch, transmission, water pump, alternator, steering wheel / steering shaft, fuel leak, water leaks..... This has not been my best purchase so far....3 points

June 14, 2023 Journal Entry by Emily Leinenbach — 5 minutes ago Zach started the week out with a bang. Both the trach (breathing tube that has been capped) and PEG (feeding tube) were removed yesterday. They had told us to expect his voice to be very weak or gone for a few days after the trach removal but thankfully it has been nearly just as loud and clear as before. We continue to work with therapy in hopes of improving strength and forge through to functional movement. They are also utilizing e-stim (essentially shocks delivered to muscles to stimulate contraction in hopes this helps stimulate more movement). Zach is getting stronger but there is just a lot of strength to gain. Sometimes it is frustrating to see what isn’t back but it is amazing to think of all we have gained. At the worst I would manually close Zach’s eyelids so he could sleep. There was quite literally no outward movement. 3 weeks later we had twitching in his jaw. And now at 6 months- chewing, swallowing, talking, full facial movement and expressions, core strength and balance, hip and shoulder strength and movement, movement in biceps and triceps and into hamstrings and quads. In therapy (and with a lot of assistance) Zach is put in a harness of sorts and with therapists in front, behind, and beside him he helps facilitate steps and “walks”. We try to do this daily. He asks for more therapy between sessions. We try to go to the gym on weekends when no therapy is scheduled. His motivation is amazing. Him having a stronger voice has been very freeing too. We are now hearing all the sarcastic comments he couldn’t say the last few months! We are working on getting things set up for his transition home. It’s exciting and also daunting but certainly a welcome step on the journey. Each phase takes a lot of planning, coordination, and decision making with very limited ability to know what the next weeks and months hold. We just keep trying to do what makes the most sense at the current time. We were given advice early on by another GBS family to make no major decisions for a least a year. I added to that a commitment to try to keep things as normal as possible for the kids - trying to keep their normal activities on the schedule. It has taken help from a lot of people and we appreciate it. Summer is busy in many different ways this year. I’d be lying to say we don’t miss our friends, our normal, our regular routine and rhythm. Most of all we miss seeing our kids every day and tucking them in and letting life be about them. But- we are on our way back. And we are thankful for every day we move in the right direction and all the lessons and insights we learn along the way. We have days where we feel like a lost has been stolen in this time but we have to focus on the fact there are things to be gained and just take it for what it is. There is some reason or some good to come. Ripple effects… we may never know. We are so thankful to be where we are now. We are so grateful for his gains and our overall support. We continue to pray for complete healing. We pray for diaphragm strength, strength and movement in lower arms and legs, initiation of movement in hands and feet. We pray for physical and mental strength, safe travel, and continued guidance in our upcoming transitions. thank you.3 points
