Electric company replacing transmission lines through our place. The have all diesel powered equipment loaders, skid steers, etc. I figured the electric company should use electric equipment and vehicles. I guess they don't believe in them. That could be part of the problem.đ5 points

If you can outguess it Nick let me know. I knew I was going after a load so filled the Dodge up to beat the price increase and.................. ...................it went downđ Only 30 gallons so not as bad as the 80 I normally put in the Pete at the end of each run but you guys putting in 200......gotta watch where you fill up cuz you don't generally have a big "when window". Unless and until they open up domestic production again, I don't think we will see prices going down. I worry about using strategic reserves to artificially lower prices. IMHO a set up for a major fail down the road and the logic behind this makes me very uneasy.3 points

I want to be clear here, I wasnât implying the only reason for formula is bad parents, i was just pointing out this crisis is wildly exacerbated by government agencies creating a dependence on specific product that then suddenly became unavailable. You cant be solely dependent on product X from company Y without a backup plan. The other companies were doing just fine before suddenly 40% of the population couldnât get the subsidized product and had to start looking elsewhere. Meanwhile we are sending gobs and gobs of the stuff to Ukraine and the Mexican border to aid illegals. I want to further clarify that i donât think ANY mother should have to be afraid of how she is going to feed her child. I do however feel that out government has a responsibility to its citizens first, allies second and itâs illegal immigrants somewhere much further down the list.3 points

Not only the USA, but also every other democratic country in the world. Just look and read how Mike has it down under, or the Kannooks up north, or maybe Argentina. We have sat idly by for so many years that now we donât know how or what to do. This is all planned destruction and if you read the book of Revelations you will have an idea of how it turns out.2 points

The Feds - We have shortage of truck drivers. Their Solution - make it harder to get CDL and endorsements. The Feds - We have empty shelves and freights are not making it to their destination on time. Proposed Solution: We'll put speed limiters on Trucks. Why's their Solution contrary to the problems ?2 points

This is my real rant for a Friday. A FISHER is a 4 legged animal that lives deep in the bush/forest/woods and is valuable for its fur and thus to the trapping industry (what's left of it) in Canada. So I was amazed to read last week of 3 fishers drowning off the coast of Newfoundland when their boat capsized in stormy weather. How these critters managed to captain a fishing vessel and end up at sea is beyond me. The words "Fisherman" or "Fishermen" are apparently no longer in the dictionary.2 points

After a quick look I like what you are doing (assuming that is you). I especially like the looks of the axe. Not like axes others have made but an older looking design. đđźđđź I wonât derail your thread to far but I stuck to a belt axe size with a slight beard because itâs a shape I like and find useful. Really clean lines on the hammer also đđź2 points

...Gary..You may be interested in this....The New Zealand Ploughing Champs were held ''up our way'' recently...the days were fraught with rain...this after several weeks of glorious Autumn weather... Two local ''steam engines '' arrived by transporter, complete with big old multiple furrow ploughs....which the event organisers had given their blessing ...to be used after the main 50 acre paddock had been ploughed up by the contestants....The steam boys were going to plough the headlands etc....however, the dreaded "Health and Safety''dipsticks were on site......and after consultation with each other...deemed the paddock...due to the light rain....'Unsafe"' Talk about letting off steam !!!...just absolutely ludicrous....not interested in the cost of getting the two engines there....not interested in the fact, despite the inclement weather...there were dozens of rural folk there to see the steam engines do their thing...,this on the second day when the vintage tractors and horses were going strong.. Domestic production is down 25% I donât know why. Strategic Oil Reserves are there for military usage in times of war. In my opinion. We are exporting oil that we donât have to export.2 points

As for the longer hours solution. If it's safe for truckers to run longer hours, it's safe to run longer hours. If it's not safe, it's not safe. Monkeying with the definition to suit the crisis d'jour is a logical fallacy. Luckily, people have better bullshit filters than "they" think; most know.2 points

I don't plan on putting the stuff into the bottom of the case.. ....nobody does. Wasnât suggesting you were an animal behind the wheel... but thatâs not a Cat 950.... that Allison has to be at a parade rest before changing directions. Youâll see what I mean when you get it running. When revving the engine with the brake applied (raising boom approaching a dump truck) , releasing the brake will result in a slam engagement if the engine is anywhere above idle. Same holds true for down shifting. Use the brakes to to come to a stop in second gear, then shift to first. Up shift with hammer down is ok. The two best things you can do for that trans is learn how to treat it right, and do not let anyone else use the machine.1 point

You are my laugh at me but I don't buy new tires anymore. I have a great used tire place near where I work and I can buy like new Michelins LTX for $75 a piece mounted. Most still have the bumps from the little tits on the tread and the flashing between the lugs. I put new tires on the wife's car but I'm willing to take the risk on my trucks. It saves me a whole lot of money.1 point

...envious of you blokes with that cheap feul.... .....put 36 litres in my Daughters little Toyota RAV...36 litres equals nine US Gallons.... ....cost a mere 114 New Zealand Dollars ....the joys of a bunch of left wing nut jobs....sitting on the lid of our country..one could say shitting on the lid of our country...and it would be absolutely correct... ...and that my friends...is just the bloody start...never mind the burgeoning food prices...or the bovine excrement the High Country Farmers are about to face...from a bunch of clueless , ignorant left wing ideologists....who ,left to their own devices would perish in the real world, within weeks.... ...this is the starting point for a great hunting experience....via fishing boat to 'steam ' down to any of the many huge 'sounds' that run back of our south west coast....This takes in vast areas....which have wapiti and red deer At certain times of the year, many fishing boats work out of Milford Sound (some of which pictured...),,,,and if you know the right bloke...you are on your way !!...and if you are like me....once you hit the open sea...puke time..big time.... Lots of good reasons for formula, not as good as the real thing, but if you look at the infant mortality rates of pre formula vs now it is telling. Keep in mind also that its not just poor folks who are using this stuff. Every born addicted crack baby that gets put into foster care is subsidized, regardless of the foster parents financial status the kids expenses are paid, and they should be, lots of good fosters out there who otherwise might not be able to do it without, being poor doesn't mean you arenât a good parent. Foster moms canât nurse without it, but the issue is that the large majority of formula sold through the WIC program was from the Abbott plant , the same one that was shut down by the feds because of a plant contamination. mow we have a situation of all the eggs being put in a contaminated basket. it left a huge volume of people without physical or financial means to provide baby food. it all goes back to utter government dependence and the problems associated with it.1 point

Sure beats the price of the WATERPUMP bearings used in the 44 & 50 inch decks. I had to replace a bearing on my 50C deck, and the top and bottom bearing housing, which cost way more than the bearing, was $180.00 total for one spindle. A buddy of mine refurbished the 317 Deere he bought brand new several years ago,, rebuilt the mower deck, think he said all new bearings, races, & seals were $40-$50 total.1 point

Close to finishing my 16 year olds first car. Thrashed on it all night and this morning to get it road worthy to go to the GS Buick nationals today in Bowling Green Ky. I've painted metallics and pearls but never a true metal flake before and really screwed it up. Put 2 coats of clear over the metal flake and it was still rough like cast iron so I changed guns on the 3rd coat and really laid it on and really laid on the runs too đ We'll sand it out and re-clear and get it right somehow. We've both learned a lot on this and today this car drew more attention than cars costing much more.1 point
