  1. To the Craigslist sellers.......... It's a corn stalk not a stock. And it's a hay bale not a bail.

  3. Girl I worked with in Purchasing about 20 years ago said the rubber in tires uses a lot of petroleum oil in it, and pretty well follows the crude oil price. And since Oil has ONLY gone up in price since this current President has been in office, both oil AND tire prices have only gone up. I can't think of the last time tire prices went down. My '51 M is sitting, leaning on a flat right rear tire, been flat for over 6 months, going to put a pair of new 14.9x38 MITAS 23 DEGREE tires that look exactly like Firestone ALL Traction Field & Roads except for the sidewalls. I keep putting off getting them hoping the price might drop even a tiny bit. I wonder if a brand new Lithium battery powered FARMALL M comes on brand new tires? I got lots more I'd like to say but the Moderator would POOF my post.

  14. My "rant of the day" would be a completely NEW list of what pizzes me off, each and every day. STUPIDITY abounds, AND is infinite. Read the headlines and 'news' articles, and you will see lots of errors in the usage of the English language, by the "highly trained professionals", who DO NOT hesitate to tell the unwashed, that their degree in 'journalism' has made them "EXPERTS ON EVERYTHING" Even "Bob' in India, at the 'help desk' has a better command of the English language, than do MOST 'reporters' and 'journalists'

  16. As I mentioned in another thread, I buy a lot of parts from RockAuto. They ship from different locations around the country and it used to be possible to choose what you wanted to buy based on having it shipped all from the same place. This week I was looking at 3 things, a steering rack boot, a cv axle and a control arm. There were about 10 different choices in price for each. When I put them in the cart, they showed shipping from 3 different locations. As I began changing items to try and consolidate shipping, the same item would all of a sudden change locations. So, where it was shipping from location A, now it was shipping from location B. All because I removed the item I had shipping from B and selected one similar that shipped from A. So, no matter what I did it maintained shipping from 3 different locations at around 16$ each. And, I noticed that lower the price for an item, the higher the shipping was. Which, actually made some of the higher priced items a better "value". And me even crazier than I am trying to get the most reasonable total price. But, I keep using them because even with the shipping nonsense, the total of the order was about 75% lower than the local NAPA,AZ,Advance or O'r. Oh, and one other thing. It was actually just the control arm bushings I needed which were $25. The whole control arm with the bushings installed and a new ball joint also $25.

  21. I agree with all of the above. Sadly it's a sign of the times.Schools do not teach sentence structure, grammar etc. at the same level or put as much importance on proper english, word usage.Heck even the teachers now can't diagram a sentence.

  24. Give me a break, not a brake, brakes stop the car, a break is a momentary stop in the action as in coffee break. You're is a contraction of you are; you're going to work. Your is possessive; your car. Their belongs to them; their car. They're is a contraction of they are; they're going to church. There is over there. Where is it? It's over there by the barn. Hydrolics drives me nuts! It's hydraulics for goodness sake! I could go on and on but, oh well, just because someone doesn't know how to spell and is grammar challenged doesn't mean they're not a good person. It's just tough to read for someone who had it hammered into his brain.

  25. In the same vein, it IS an Allis Chalmers, NOT an Alice Chambers, or Aloose Chammers, and it IS a John Deere, NOT a "popping johnnie", or a "johnny popper", all coming from those who had NEVER spent ANY seat time in one doing real work, but only bought into that, because that was the fad at the time, or listens to s**t like "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy". (BUT, I DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT, listen to that kind of Brooks and Dung 'music' (and I use that term loosely) anyways. These ARE the kind of people who kcuf up EVERYTHING they touch.

With my acoustic guitar leaned up against the wall managed to drain his lizard right through a 4" hole, what's the chances when most men can't hit a 16" opening Seth you wish Jeff you may as well install red floor mats in your office, buddy used to always say got hauled up on the red carpet for his many trips to HR

Or, you position yourself standing up, and it still runs down the front of your underwear. 39. our US roads esp thru the 2500' mountains use to be like roller coaster, 2 lane 55/45/25 and NOT safe for night travel. even in winter day light if you suddenly run into dark fog, immediately off the climbing go and hit the WHOA !!.....318 greyhound directly ahead. 13 spd RR had a smell, with higher clouds and you had about 1500' to the 15MPH ,obstruction now in 16th low. didnt ever pass either,as just out of the cloud ,another and 30 cars would be barreling back at you.

  40. Dirtpoor beat me to it, I was going to point out how all the small farms are getting bought up by BTO. Don't get me wrong, there's no shortage of dealers deserving a bad name. And yes it sucks if your local is one of them. Another thing to consider. If you are getting poor service and ill treatment at every place you go, what kind of customer are you being? I'm the easiest going guy you'll ever deal with, but there's a few people I won't lift a finger to help. If a customer brings a rude or hostile attitude to my office, I'm not inclined to give them any reason to come back.

  45. I believe the middle class is being destroyed by incompetence. People that have a lot of power never seem to be able to answer “Then what?”. They want to ban internal combustion, but they have no answer for “Then what?” They are attempting to mandate things that don’t yet exist on the promise that they will eventually if we spend enough money.

I know skid steers and bulldozers are good at lots of more important jobs, but I've gotten more enjoyment out of building roads and trails in the woods with my dozer than anything else I've used it for. Took these the other night walking to the barn, thinking how much I enjoy my "roads."

  48. Mike, you should come visit some of the many “landowners” near me. There is someone from every career imaginable here. They all have one thing in common. They all know more about farming than I could ever hope to know. They know what we should be doing, what we should be raising, what we should be feeding, what we need to quit spraying, their knowledge is nearly limitless. You would be dazzled. Probably one or two might volunteer some welding or machinery operating advice too, rather you’re interested or not.
