  2. The mask wearing is nothing more then a feel good gesture for the people around you that don’t know any better. The same kind of people that have required society to post sign’s like these .

  3. I have done my best to respect the diverse opinions regarding COVID-19 over these past few months and to educate myself as much as possible. The ER nurse that posted this brilliantly sums up my current train of thought: Please just take politics out of it and read this with an open mind using common sense. Anyone out there who can tell me what our end game is with the covid 19? What is the magic formula that is going to allow us to sound the all clear? Is it zero cases? The only way that will happen is if we just stop testing and stop reporting. Is it a vaccine? It took 25 yea

  5. Professor----- You get it organized on your squeezebox; bring Tuba Case in on it for a random big honk; we will get TwoStep on the dance floor with a couple of "settled age ladies (you know, about 23---24 yrs age)------with Roger in the background blowing on the steam whustle; SledgeHammer tapping on his anvil for the drum corps and Fred and myself selling tickets and putting out a little conversation promoting the Cotton Patch Polka. It will be a WINNER all the way around!!!!! Plus-----if we get lucky; TwoStep might bring in a bus load of those "settled age" cotton strippers

  6. What an amazing project. A grand total of 750hrs to make this O-4 look absolutely amazing. I am very happy with the end result on this one. I am really hoping all this nonsense ends soon so I can get this thing to a show. I won second place in our local competition and now I am entered in the Delo national competition. With that being said I need everyone's help. Please go to https://delotrcvoting.com/Voting/Details?entryId=147 and vote for Josh Jorgensen. You can vote 3 times every 24 hours. Please tell family and friends, register multiple emails, etc. I would really appreciate the votes

  8. Watched that video a zillion times, and still love it. The story jives with an experience I had, back in the day, when I was still a productive member of society, during a night shift at the Fairchild Command Post. I was contacted by an SR-71 needing fuel. I did some coordinating for them to meet one of our tankers. The SR was over northern Montana, the tanker was flying a track in Arizona. Had a brief BS session with the SR, and was told to "tell your boys we'll be down there in 30 minutes." Don't know how many miles per hour that equates to, but Montana, across northern Idaho, and then

  13. Sometimes l am one of the world's worse "what if" type of person. Like what if l had married that one instead of the other one? Or what if l had got that job instead of the other? But that type of thinking can drive you nuts if you let it. l have no idea how different the world would be today if 9-11-2001 hadn't happened. Or what if JFK had't been assassinated or if Japan hadn't attacked Pearl Harbor on 12-7-41 or what if the Nazis had won the war. Don't know if it would be any better or worse but it scares me to think how bad it could be if not for just a few small details.

  16. That's always been a favorite of mine. Nowadays everyone has a readout. I remember when I first started flying glass cockpits with inertial navigation and got magic readouts like ground speed, TAS, and wind direction. Flying above the airline guys flying Jurassic Jets and smugly listening as they asked for a heading to somewhere until they could pick up a VOR while we could just push a button. The freight guys flying pistons would be asking for a speed readout as it was a lot faster/easier than cranking a wiz wheel around. They were lucky to have anything working. My Cessna now has better

  20. That was 5.46 my time. My wife used the TV for alarm clock, set to come on at 5.30,she like to be headed out by 6.30. So I saw the TV coverage as the second plane hit. How the story built as the third plane hit. Then the story of phone calls from the fourth plane. She went to school, as she said even if school is closed parents will drop kids off anyway. Which they did, and class was not canceled here. Many people did great things that day. A blind guy that was a floor or so lower than where the plane hit wrote a book about walking out with his guide dog. All the firemen who that went up,o

  21. Bitty. That clutch hold down is a factory item I’m pretty sure. Bought a few rear ends once and there was one on. Was told they were for starting in winter so you didn’t have to turn over cold oil in trans.

  22. Well finally got some more done. Just about half done now. Wee little bit of wheat to do and we’ll be at the half way point. Technically speaking though I’m all done lol. Finished up the last of the barley this morning. Had a wee bit left st home. Thought I could finish it las night but the combine filled up before I was done. I’d left a few slough bottoms that were green before so I was just cleaning up odds and ends. Maybe 3-4 acres. Ended up with 275 bushels from that little bit though so it was worth while chasing lol. Surprising as there wasn’t much of a swath in most places either. Fe

  25. My wife(though close with her father) made it very clear if I was to ask her hand I was not to seek permission, it’s her decision and no one else’s. After the deed was done, on Christmas Eve, her father said , “but you never asked my permission” with a straight face and in front of the whole family , I told him “but I didn’t want to marry you” her mother nearly peed her pants, and still tells the story to this day.

  29. Ray, I think, things we remember about that day will stick with us the rest of our lives. I don't know anyone that wasn't affected in some way. The only thing I think that compares is how my parents must have felt on December 7th, 1941.

  32. In 2001 i was headed to the dealer for some combine parts ,when i got there the guy behind the counter was hysterical, he asked if i had heard what was going on and i had no idea. I left without any parts and headed straight home not knowing what might be next. What a shame it is, that it took such a tragedy to bring this country to it's knees, and i mean that literally . People went back to there churches hung up there flags and united like no time in my life. NOW look at it, how soon we forget and i suppose a lot are too young to remember.
