  1. Jerk That Binder Boat anchor out and install a real diesel engine, DT 360 or a 5.9 Cummins and just drive it.

  2. Pssss. I was worried about you for a second. That bed is worth that. Lol You could part it out and make money. Those are good trucks. I'd start lookin for a motor. Probably could drop a gasser in but I'd just spend more for diesel. In that year ford Didnt offer a whole lot really did they? V10 or Triton. Perfect candidate for a 5.9 swap ?

  3. If by chance you saw a picture of mine then yes, I found an 8 blade at a junk yard and switched it during my restoration . I also added the dual belts even though I don’t have AC, I also switched the PTO engagement lever to a cab type . My tractor never had a cab it’s just my personal preferences, A 1066 is at least 44 years old now. Your bound to see lots of things that deviate from their original spec’s . BTW if you want an 8 blade fan there’s plenty available .

  4. Dang no startin' 560's. I parked and drained mine last fall because I planned on feeding with the Allis cab tractor. Had to move it the other day. Filled it with 50/50, hits the starter, rolled about three times and fired off. 45* and not plugged in.

  5. OH MY GOD she is lucky (or unlucky) Remember it was not too long ago a ex farmer in our county did the same thing with the result being the rest of his life in a wheel chair.. I hope someone starts a "Go fund me" for her and the kids.

  6. Nahh not laughing at you at all. Laughing at the thought of it. No doubt 5.9 is a better motor but that's a lot of grief to go through.

  9. And you all know how auctions go..... You see something you want, and then get irritated that someone had the audacity to bid it up and you just had to win.....

  10. For what you paid you could look for a used 6.0 or even a Ford reman service engine available already studded for 8K$. If the truck is in good shape and you spent 10K on it you really would be doing pretty well and have a new engine. You won't find a low milage one for that. Swapping in a V10 or 7.3 will be big $ as nothing is the same.

  11. first off what are your plans for it IF you were to use it? next, dead could mean so many things you wont know what you are dealing with until you get a closer look, with those miles chances are its been apart and had teh egr cooloer and oil cooler replaced/updated not to mention gaskets/studs but you wont know until you get a look at it. positives..........its got a torque shift trannie in it!!! its an 06 so coil suspension with shorter turning, also over 200 updates from the 03/early 04 models on the engine. you can get your money back out of it for sure with all the stuff that is likely good on it not to mention the bed - personally i like the 6.0 they are great once you fix them outside of injectors now/again but i also put on quite a few miles. i own one and love it even with its early shortcomings, take one in a heartbeat over a 6.4 they were far worse. mine is getting rusty that one looks in good shape for its age/miles you did ok i think - i dont see residue around the degauss bottle cap which is a sure sign of puking coolant and issues. Id check for studs on the heads they are easy to see/identify as they are exposed on the lower part of the valve covers edge toward the manifolds. i just took my truck for a 4 hour drive today and 18+mpg its worth checking on a diagnosis for sure at a good reputable place - lets us know what they find or you when you get it spinning over and see if its got clunks or what - could be a HPOP, could be many many things....

  14. Assuming your planning on having it at Huron this June? I hope so, love to see it. The time & money look well spent! Did you use IH America adapter kit to mate the gm 700r4 to the 345?

  15. Yes there are bushings on the hood hinges and they do like to seize up . We just had to take a hood apart to weld where a pin broke off recently for the pivot

  16. I had the same issue with my 7140 a few years ago, ended up being the cab solenoid, as far as the hood closing goes, try lubing all the hinge points first. I'm thinking there are bushings in the hinge pins that could be worn also but don't quote me on that one.

  17. Ours was gas . Most on propane that I remember were New Holland 290's, Freeman 330's, Oliver's of same vintage. The jury is still out but everything I have mocked up for propane ,changes the look of this machine more then I like and being most people have never seen a Yellow I.H. #71 three wire baler with Wisc. engine , I need to keep it as original as possible. 21. X2. I drove a 7150 that did the exact same thing. That power post is in the right front corner of the cab. If you look up from the bottom you’ll see it. Chances are, it’s all full of corrosion and rust.

  22. It’s just an old 560. You know the ones that won’t start , the rear ends ALL exploded and flew out the back scattered over three counties like the Roswell flying saucer . Just ask the experts on here they will tell ya all about them old 560’s but since you asked here she is . I like these lights on the back, I keep this one on so I can watch all the rear end parts flying out the back .
